"I am sorry for being so late," Red said right after he lay beside me on my bed. I pretended to be asleep since I still felt hurt about what Carmie said.

"I know you are still awake, my love," he added as he put his arm around my waist. Since I was lying on my side, my back was on him.

"Please, don't believe what Carmie said. She only wanted to make you angry with me and ruin what we had right now. You knew how much I love you, Des." He whispered in my ear, and I couldn't stop giggling when she started kissing my neck.

"Red, I am tired. Why did you wake me up?" I asked as I turned around to face him. I had to swallow my saliva as I looked at his face. He looked so fresh, hot, and handsome, and my heart was beating so loudly against my chest.

"I trust you, Red. I wondered where you brought my step-sister and that you went home too late." I asked.
