Amelia's eyes widened a little in surprise at the question.

"Yes…" she said, dragging out the word in confusion. "Why?"

Matteo instantly stood up and went towards the surgeon. Amelia thought he was about to ask about getting a vial of Emmeline's blood for testing, but what he asked was completely different. 

"Excuse me, but there's no way that a child with Blood Type O could possibly be born to parents with Blood types A and AB, is it?" 

Amelia's eyes widened at Matteo's words. Didn't this mean that… this couldn't be! This was so outrageous the very thought threatened to send her mind into a tailspin.

If Emmeline wasn't Benjamin and Annalise's daughter, then whose daughter was she? Did they pick her up from the garbage dump?
