~~~Concentration Camp Auschwitz, Poland~~~
~~~July 1942~~~

"More and more refugees are arriving at the camp, quite possibly we will be full in a matter of days, if so, it will be necessary to get rid of the older and sicker ones as soon as possible," a woman was conversing with a man in a luxurious room overlooking a large courtyard in the background filled with people wearing simple, dirty clothes, constantly being forced at the point of blows and insults to continue working.

The woman was an exceptional beauty, with jade-white skin, crystal blue eyes, long blonde hair, and a slender, lithe body, she was what many would consider a Victoria's Secret Angel. This, coupled with her snow-white coat and demonstrator clothes, made her the center of attention in the room.

The man she was talking to had a confident smile on his face, yet he gave off an imminent danger underneath his calm facade, like a tiger about to pounce at any moment, middle-aged, and elegant-looking, the man was no slouch in terms of physical appearance, but it was his eyes that attracted the most attention possible. For they were the eyes of someone who had seen and been through a lot, and not exactly good things.

"My dear Emma, that won't be a concern, very soon they will be needed for the experiments Hitler wants, he has been getting impatient with the developments lately," the man behind the mahogany desk replied to the beautiful woman, recognizable as Emma.

As the soft music continued to play on the phonograph, outside the killing, torturing, and shooting went on, it was a completely organized chaos of unparalleled suffering, a scene, and setting that was completely counterbalanced by the office the two of them were in.

Up there, the clean white walls, the enameled floor, and the rack of expensive wines on the wall showed the abrupt change there, a cruel scene that gave a glimpse of a different reality than what was going on outside those walls.

"I thought you were still waiting for breakthroughs from Johann Schmidt now that you found the blue cube," Emma shot back, getting up and pouring into a crystal glass some wine.

Shaw snorted in amusement, "Johann Schmidt won't get anything, he's too busy trying to get Dr. Erskine captured, so Hitler won't get anything from him, besides, Hitler firmly believes that occult and supernatural knowledge is essential to winning the war, he's becoming more and more paranoid and erratic."

"I thought those experiments and developments had stopped as they were not coming to any success," Emma commented, a small frown hurting her beautiful face. "It was, but because of Dr. Erskine's success, Hitler believes that a form of power can also be arrived at that will help him win the war."

"But that man did not succeed, we both saw what Johann became, his red face says it all, it is as if he has become Azazel's adopted brother." With a chuckle escaping Shaw's lips, he laughed at his companion's comment, thinking Emma's comparison was very close to being true.

"While it may be true, we both know that her research and serum opened the doors to something greater, not as much as we and our race are, but at least something that people with no aspirations beyond being pigs for the slaughter can aspire to become... Even Johann," Shaw commented, earning another small round of laughter.

"Splus!"

A small sound was heard, accompanied by a burst of intangible red smoke, appearing a... Man. Though his appearance seemed otherwise, with red skin, black eyes, and a tail, the man looked more like a demon than a person.

"Ahh, Azazel, we were just talking about you a moment ago," Shaw greeted the newcomer, as Azazel approached the oak desk and dropped several newspapers on it. "What is it?" Emma asked interestedly, leaning over a bit to take a look, causing her breasts to sway.

"See for yourself," was the answer Azazel provided. Shaw picked up one of the papers, and above the paper over her face, Emma could see her eyebrows raise, only to have her eyes narrow and a frown show on her face.

Without shaking the feeling of curiosity, Emma walked over to the desk and picked up one of the newspapers, and the contents surprised her, the paper belonged to a famous American newspaper chain, called the New York Bulletin, but that wasn't what was striking. What was interesting was the

What was it? At first glance it looked like a picture of a movie with very advanced effects, it showed a dragon grabbing an aircraft carrier in its paws, while holding it in the air, while the carrier was being split in two. And the headline was most disturbing.

"Hidden nation reveals itself to the world after the fight against the Japanese fleet."

"Is this real?" Emma couldn't help but ask, believing it to be American propaganda and not something truthful, "It is completely real, this and more major American newspapers are covering the story, I was at the White House myself, apparently Roosevelt made a deal with this nation, sold the Panama Canal in exchange for over two hundred million dollars and the destruction of Japan at the hands of this country."

"They must be pretty desperate to make a move like that, who would believe that Japan has them on the ropes enough to sell out to the devil... No offense Azazel." Emma commented as she continued to read the news on the paper.

"Not exactly, Roosevelt is a smart man, he may well be using this nation as a martyr, to weaken Japan and reap the rewards after it is wounded so he can destroy them," Shaw proposed, getting up from his seat and walking to stand in front of the window that showed the panorama in the concentration camp.

"From what I learned, there is a large presence of mutants in that place, reports spoke of women being able to jump huge distances and carry enormous strength, as well as beings with the ability to destroy planes in the air without getting hurt, they must be mutants with unique characteristics like mine". Azazel said that was enough to fuel Shaw's interest in Xandar.

"Mutants? Are you sure about that?" Shaw asked, putting the paper down on the desk momentarily as his gaze shifted to Azazel, who nodded, certain of what he had seen in the images and reports.

"Yes, they were able to destroy Japanese battleships by their own hands, as well as shoot down planes with no problem, and from what I saw, there are many mutants in the service of that nation," Azazel replied, getting Shaw to sink into his thoughts, "show me, Emma," Shaw said after a few seconds.

Emma, understanding what Sebastian was referring to, read Azazel's memories, the ones that showed everything seen on the recordings the American cameramen had taken of Xandar, then, relayed those memories to Shaw, whose eyes clouded over, as he watched over and over what Emma showed him.

From watching the Enderman tear apart the Japanese fighters and bombers, the wyverns attack like a pack of locusts, the soldiers stationed on Tharlan using their potion-given abilities to destroy the Japanese ships, to seeing the power of Valka and Isabella's dragons, and Azrael's final appearance on Endoxes.

"It's beautiful," Sebastian Shaw said, after seeing what Emma had shown him, she too had been amazed and excited by it, but it was Shaw, who had shown more elation, enamored to know that more of his 'kind' were out there.

"We must go, I want to know that place for myself, they are the key to seeing my vision come true, a nation where only mutants live, one where they are the pinnacle of power on earth, a place safe for all, and feared by our enemies," Sebastian explained, wanting to go at that very moment to Xandar to know its wonders with his own eyes.

And just as Azazel held out his hands to both Shaw and Emma, a commotion broke out outside, angering Shaw as he thought it was another escape attempt by those being held, instead, Emma smiled, and approaching the window, told Shaw the good news, "one of our own has awakened."

Sebastian walked over to the window, and the sight surprised and thrilled him to no small degree.

A gate of partition bars had been detached from the bars, finished bent at an unnatural angle, with several dead soldiers on the ground, their helmets sunk into their skulls. Amid the commotion, a child was being subdued by several soldiers, as he tried to get to a woman, quite possibly his mother or family of the child.
