Why were the lights towards the gym on?

She picked up the electric iron from the wooden cabinet. This iron had saved her once when Xiang Aofeng had come over. Holding it, she'd have something to defend herself with in case she encountered any frightful person.

She tiptoed towards the direction of the gym.

Reaching the corridor, she realized that not only were the corridor lights on but the gym lights were on too.

She could clearly hear someone moving inside, as if someone was exercising in the gym.
