"Thank you…" Lynn expressed his gratitude as he took the Artificial Death's copper whistle from Kapusky's hand.

As he held the Artificial Death's copper whistle, Lynn seemed to see a line extending from the whistle, connecting to an unknown space where the unactivated Uniqueness of the Death pathway and half of Azik Eggers' soul were entwined, inseparably.

Simultaneously, some knowledge appeared in Lynn's mind.

Lynn blinked, and the illusion before him vanished instantly. He wasn't surprised but calmly pocketed the copper whistle.

Since that time he overdid it with the Bitch Tree, Lynn had occasionally experienced such visions whenever he came into contact with higher-level forces. This was the aftermath he had mentioned earlier.

It was both good and bad. The good part was that Lynn could utilize this aftermath to gain information he previously couldn't access. The bad part was that this wasn't Lynn's own power. The more he saw, the closer he was to his True Self.

Fortunately, as of now, this aftermath was reversible. As long as Lynn didn't push his luck, there wouldn't be major issues.

However… As he reviewed the information he had just acquired about the Uniqueness of the Death pathway and Azik, Lynn suddenly had an idea.

Should he attempt to separate Azik's half-soul from the Uniqueness of the Death pathway and, while ensuring Azik's human stability, repair his soul?

For Lynn, this was a meaningful research topic. His ultimate goal was to completely sever himself from His True Self, which also involved the separation, division, and restoration of the soul.

Researching this would provide Lynn with some valuable insights.

However, the current information was insufficient. At the very least, I need to get a sample from Azik during his time as the Death Consul. If I could study the Death's uniqueness up close, that would be even better…

Various plans flashed through Lynn's mind. Despite appearing not to be the studious type, Lynn had significant motivation, patience, and curiosity for learning and research. Otherwise, he wouldn't have thought of studying the Outer Gods after just one encounter with the Bitch Tree.

But even with countless ideas in his head, Lynn showed no sign of it on the surface. He then looked at the novice, who had been courting death without knowing it, and smiled, "Let's go!"

"Wh-Where to? I've already given you the whistle…" Kapusky stammered, clearly nervous and scared.

"Don't be so nervous. I just want to see the body he left behind after his death. Didn't you personally bury him?" Lynn said with a smile.

"O-Okay…" Kapusky instinctively wanted to refuse, but ultimately, seeing the obviously non-human shadow before him, he chose to comply.

The two then went to the garden where the old man was buried. Kapusky, carrying tools, skillfully dug up the soil and eventually pried open the stone slab serving as a coffin, revealing a not-so-deep grave.

The next second, Kapusky screamed and stepped back, falling to the ground.

It wasn't that someone attacked him, but the fact that the novice mysticism enthusiast discovered that the grave he personally buried the old man in had neither the decayed body nor bones he expected, but only scattered pale yellow stained white feathers at the bottom.

"He… He's gone…" Kapusky stammered.

"Don't be afraid. He just woke up and left on his own!" Lynn said with a smile, "Isn't this what you've been pursuing?"

Kapusky's eyes widened, and in that moment, the dragon-obsessed novice finally realized the horror of the situation.

What terrified Kapusky even more was what came next. He suddenly heard the shadow say,

"Good night, Mr. Kapusky."

Kapusky was stunned for a moment, unable to react before a compelling drowsiness overcame him, and he fell asleep on the ground.

"Is he alright?"

Klein's voice sounded in the garden as he emerged from the shadows where he had been hiding from the beginning, asking with concern.

"Well, sort of. His body has been somewhat contaminated due to prolonged close contact with this copper whistle. If we hadn't intervened in time, he might have fallen seriously ill and died within a short period," Lynn said after a brief examination of Kapusky, adding, "But it's nothing serious. I'll use the Sun pathway's abilities to purify him later."

Klein breathed a sigh of relief, then turned his gaze to the scattered pale yellow stained white feathers in the grave.

Seeing these feathers, his first reaction was to think of "Angels," but he soon dismissed that thought, recalling some past stories Azik had told him.

Those stories also mentioned similar white feathers.

Combining this with what Lynn had said, Klein leaned towards the idea that these were characteristics of the Death pathway or something concocted by the Numinous Episcopate.

"What do you plan to do with these things?" Klein asked next.

"Take some as samples and purify the rest with the Sun pathway's abilities. These feathers aren't a major issue…" Lynn said, indicating the Artificial Death God copper whistle in his hand to Klein, "This thing is the real problem."

"What is it? What does it do?" Klein asked curiously.

"It's just a token used to summon a messenger, but it might be connected to certain beings…" Lynn said thoughtfully while holding the copper whistle, looking at Klein with a meaningful expression, "Perhaps you know something related to that being."

Klein: ?

Klein was puzzled. After thinking for a moment, he asked, "What do you mean?"

"The Numinous Episcopate's Artificial Death project…" Lynn didn't keep him guessing and continued, "Your high-sequence Death pathway teacher should have mentioned this to you."

Artificial Death? What Artificial Death? Can a God of Death even be artificial?

Klein was baffled. He didn't pretend to understand what he didn't, since Sherlock wasn't the Fool. It was normal not to know some things.

So he straightforwardly said, "My teacher didn't mention anything about an Artificial Death. What is it?"
