‘‘Where’s Shiela?’’ I inquired, wondering as to why he was in charge of the kitchen rather than his butler. I was attempting to break the awkward silence that had developed while he was preparing the food, and I was enjoying watching him work.

‘‘Whenever Cheol has the opportunity, he likes to prepare his breakfast...’’ Shiela, who was about to walk into the kitchen, responded. ‘‘If he has a busy schedule, he skips his meals, but cooking is clearly something he enjoys doing...’’
