I pushed the door open and stepped out of the club, running to the parking lot to where my car was parked. I felt the cold wind blew through my skin, but it was nothing to the coldness I felt inside my heart. It was frozen, numb, and the pain in my heart was like being stabbed by thousands of needles.

I looked back behind me when I heard Uno’s voice calling me. “Ashley!”

But I ignored him and forced my feet to move faster. I have never been very athletic but my adrenaline was in full effect. I reached the other side of the street and into my car. I opened the door, fumbling for my keys and started the engine.

I was so broken and mad to the point that I felt numb, I couldn’t even cry. The tears were pooling in my eyes, but they just won’t fall.

No, I won’t shed any tear in front of him, not this time. Not a single one.
