Uno and I were walking down the hallway hand in hand, everyone’s eyes on us. I caught the gazes of other girls fawning over his handsome features, now that they finally knew that he’s not gay.
But Uno’s eyes were just on me. He doesn’t say anything. He just stared at me intensely. He stared and stared while I stared back at an equal intensity. Somehow this had become an unannounced staring contest because the moment I interrupted our stare down with a blink, he spoke. “You and me, Ash.”
“What?” I smiled.
“You and me, let’s play a game.” He smiled back. His eyes traveled from my orbs down to my lips, then back to my eyes again.
“What kind of game?”
He grinned. “We’ll date and in a month, and I promise you will fall for me. When you fall in love with me between that time span, I win.” He said rather loudly and swiftly in one breath with a sense of seriousness in his golden eyes.
I halted and blinked. “And if you lose?”
“Then you win.” He said, laughing.
