章節 16: Is that the Klein Dorolt they know?
The news about Klein's completion of the trial proliferated in the academy and caused a wave of discussion for the whole day.
The Vice-Headmaster who initially believed that Klein could not complete the trial was shocked by it.
Everyone was wondering how a naive and weak person was able to complete the trial which was known for its high difficulty.
However, evidence such as the ancient relic was presented in person by Klein himself inside the headmaster's office early in the morning. After that, Klein joined the class as though nothing had happened.
Whether he completely defeated the lord of the dungeon was a question they wanted to know but failed to get a clear answer because the person himself didn't mention it. The condition of the trial is just to retrieve the ancient relic after all.
After Klein's success in the Land of Trial, the officials of the academy decided to send experts to investigate the dungeon. They learned later that the lord of the dungeon was not slain. It means Klein luckily found the relic.
There was a gossip saying, that when Klein came out of the dungeon, there was another person together with him. Meaning to say, someone helped him in completing the trial. Klein Dorolt was, after all, the son of a duke. No matter how insignificant he was in the eyes of other people, he was a direct descendant of one of the highest nobles in the kingdom. So, of course, his family would not sit idly and do nothing to help him.
Although it was against the rules, if no evidence or eyewitnesses were to step forward, gossip would remain gossip.
Why would they bargain their safety for the sake of disqualifying someone? No one was brave enough, especially because Klein Dorolt's background was not something to be taken lightly.
Many of the students felt a sense of unfairness.
The next day, Klein went to the class again as if nothing happened, or maybe he simply didn't care at all even with the various murmurs that were noticeably directed at him.
But this day, the murmurs weren't only about his achievement of the trial but also about the slight change in his appearance. It was obvious that he lost some weight. That said, everyone then realized that the trial was truly difficult. In just a few days, Klein lost about 15-20 pounds.
Regardless, though Klein lost some weight, he was still considerably fat.
Honestly, Klein was a little bit disappointed with the trial.
'What's with that trial? The relic was hidden under a boulder in the middle of the path. With my «Inspection» skill, I easily found it. Well, people without inspection ability will surely have difficulty finding it. There was an alternate way to open an exit portal, however, that alternative was more dangerous because it meant you needed to kill the dungeon lord. Well, never mind. When Klein found Sylvia, she was unconscious on the ground. Thankfully, he found some herbs and useful items to make herbal medicine. If it were not for his experience as a hunter, he would not have known what to do in that moment and he would have failed to save Sylvia.
When Sylvia regained consciousness, she looked very surprised. And also, she accused him of taking advantage of her weak state.
At first, Klein didn't understand what she meant by it, but when he looked at their appearance, he finally figured out what she meant by taking advantage. Sylvia's maid dress was tattered, revealing most of her skin, while on the other hand, Klein was only with underwear. In such a state, of course, it was easy to misinterpret.
Klein hastily explained what happened to him and how he was in such a state. Sylvia fell silent after that and it looked like she was contemplating.
The sequence of events is: he found a legendary item, then found Sylvia, and lastly, found the relic. They waited for the night to come and went outside after that as they didn't need to kill the lord of the dungeon. There's no need for him to go into such trouble as fighting the strongest entity in that place.
Sylvia was surprised that he knew when it would be night outside. He shrugged his shoulders and told her it was his intuition.

Listening to the teacher as he discussed the fundamental roles of magic casting, Klein couldn't help but feel sleepy.

A yawning sound was heard. Everyone turned their eyes to the brave one. Is this idiot not knowing who their teacher is right now?! Holy, this person had a death wish!
When they saw the one yawning, 'Fuck, no wonder! Never mind, it's Klein Dorolt! The disrespectful person!' Every student in the class thought.
A cross pulse appeared on the teacher's face. "Klein Dorolt, even if you're the son of the Duke of this country I won't tolerate your disrespect in my class!"
"Aw forgive me, teach. You see I haven't had enough sleep in the dungeon!" Klein's apology looks genuine.
This little act of apology caused a wave of shock from the students around.

The students who witnessed him asking for an apology felt a rush of disbelief at what they were seeing or hearing in that instance.
The teacher, a 50-year-old man, wearing a purple robe and a cylindrical hat of the same color, fixed his eyeglasses and said, "I see, Klein Dorolt, you have a reason to be sleepy, however, this lesson is very important. Don't become arrogant just because you have a bit of luck in the trial."
"I wouldn't dare, teach." Klein straightened his posture.
Hearing it, the teacher coughed and continued the lesson.
After some time, "Anyway, tomorrow we are having a practical test to check your casting speed", the teacher left those words before exiting the classroom.
After the teacher left, most of the students turned their eyes toward Klein. They were probably curious how he survived the trial or whether the rumor about him receiving aid from his family was true.
