章節 18: Great Being

-Medea-

"What's a leyline..?" Her master asked, confused.

She already expected this question, considering her summoning was an accident.

Which honestly made her feel annoyed, to think she was an 'accident' and nothing more, either way there's no use dwelling on it.

She'll take whatever she can, even with this disadvantage, as this was her chance to fulfill her dream.

"It's complicated but for you to understand, a leyline is a land that is filled with prana, we need that so that I could continue existing." Medea explained it to her summoner in an oversimplified way.

With the look of realization, her master replied. "Oh, then we need to find a leyline as soon as possible then!"

Shaking her head with a sigh. "If it was that easy to find a leyline anyone would- hmm?"

Medea frowned as she noticed something unusual beneath her, she didn't notice this before as she was quite disappointed with her master as he couldn't provide her anything at all, considering her summoning is accidental.

Although there's a lot of things she wanted an answer of, like how he summoned her despite his lack of knowledge or compatibility.

Either way she would soon find her answers, however right now she's going to find out what's with this place.

Oh she didn't miss the fact that this place seemed to be bigger than the outside, to be honest it was shocking but she wasn't just expressing it.

At first she thought that this was her summoner's work, but after a short conversation with him it was obvious that there's no way he's capable of this.

The thing that happened in this very building is like magic, there's no way this is mere magecraft.

Even she isn't capable of bending space. Only a sorcerer is capable of such, and something amazing like this is in this shop, how truly mysterious.

Now, she was looking what's beneath her as this could be a clue to what's happening to this building.

And when she realized what's beneath this very building, her face couldn't be more shocked as this time she couldn't contain or pretend to be unfazed.

After all, the sheer density of the prana beneath her was so astonishing that even back in her era was nothing compared to this.

"What exactly is beneath this building…?!" At first her guess was that a powerful dragon corpse was underneath this building, however the mystery was greater than it.

"What's wrong?" Her master asked.

"What's wrong..? What's wrong?! Are you seriously asking me that?! Can't you feel- of course, you can't why I am even asking you this." Caster let out a sigh, but after her initial shock excitement came next.

Why wouldn't she? This place is basically a gold mine to a magus like her, this was a great opportunity.

With this leyline, she would be guaranteed to win; she'd be incompetent if she isn't.

Either way, her earlier displeasure about having a master who couldn't support her disappeared.

Her biggest weakness was no more.

All she needed to do was to prepare for the war, as she was sure that there's still a lot of time before every servant of the war would be summoned and her enemies wouldn't know what hit them.

With a smile, she was confident of her victory already.

"It seems like something good happened, you're smiling." Medea snapped out of her happy place, as she realized that she wasn't alone and was with her summoner.

The smile on her face quickly disappeared as if it was never there and her expression became default. "I suppose, it's fortunate that we don't have to find a leyline as there's one in this very land."

"Oh, that's a good thing I guess?" Her master smiled albeit confused.

This is why having a non-magus as a summoner is inconvenient, however it also has its advantages.

With a master like this manipulating him will be easy, after all he's someone who doesn't have any protection against any magecraft.

Although she still have to be careful around him, despite him not having any magecraft of whatever he's still a threat after all he has something that could fuck her over if she were to cross the line.

His command seal, that's why manipulating him should only be used if it's absolutely necessary and besides from what little she knew about him, he seems like a decent person.

She would rather not do anything too extreme, she might be a witch but she wasn't completely evil.

"Master, do you have a spare room that you don't use?"

Her master looked a bit surprised by the unexpected question, however he quickly recovered and replied. "I do.. however, why do you want to know that?"

A completely reasonable concern, to ease his worries she replied. "I want to set up a mage workshop."

"Oh, a magical workshop if that's the case then I'll give you permission to use it." He quickly agreed after hearing her reason, which was a bit of a surprise, after all she didn't expect him to agree so easily.

Considering most people would be wary about things that they have no knowledge of.

Either way this is more convenient to her, and couldn't help but appreciate how open-minded her master was.

"Thank you, now would you please guide me where the spare room is-" Medea suddenly paused as she heard the bell ringing outside the door and immediately dematerialized to avoid being caught by whoever enters the building.

Curiously she decided to see whose person enters this late at night at her master's house.

And to her shock, it was a great being that she never expected to see.

'A Fae..?!'

Medea couldn't believe what she witnessed, right now her mind was filled with questions as to why is fae here or how did it manage to get out of the reverse side of the world.

It shouldn't be possible, yet here she was standing in front of her.

She couldn't react as she froze at where she was standing, she could feel it, any mage that was worth their salt would definitely be able to see it.

That pure, dense torrent of mana that was covering the small body of the great being in front of her.

It was so dense that she felt like she would suffocate just from standing near her.

Then the fae stared directly at the very spot she's standing and spoke. "A spirit?"

Medea stilled, of course this great being knew that she was standing here despite in her spirit form.

It wasn't surprising, however what is surprising is that this great being's attention was into her and without hesitation she quickly materialized in her servant form and kneeled at the fae in front of her.

"I respectfully greet the lady fae."

While it wasn't her first time meeting a fae, however she rarely meets one and each of them are powerful within their own right and beings that shouldn't be disrespected.

In her mind, a pure blooded fae like this one in front of her is equivalent to the gods, as they are no more inferior than them.

The fae looks at her with a bit of interest, which wasn't a bad thing as this being wasn't hostile to her, however that interest could also be really dangerous depending on the situation.

Then suddenly her idiot of a master spoke carelessly making her feel like she's about to have a heart attack, because what the heck is he doing?!

Both of them could end up dead if they displease this powerful being in front of them!

As much as she wanted to criticize him and possibly think of punishing him if they ever survived in this situation, she could only hope that this didn't offend the fae.

"Why are you suddenly kneeling?" He was confused at her sudden actions.

Medea bit her lips in frustration and was about to say something, but suddenly the fae beat her to it and said.

"How particular...it's been a long time since someone acted like this in front of me."

Medea thought that the fae was talking about her master at first, however it was clear that she was talking about her.

Strange…

Her master raised a brow at the great being and has the audacity to question her. "What do you mean by that exactly?"

Hearing that Medea felt like her blood froze at the sheer terror.

And to her shock, the fae answered with a slight smile. "I have this experience of humans kneeling and bowing towards me in reverence as a great being a few thousand years ago."

"Seriously..? But considering what you are, I'm not really surprised." Her master shrugged.

"It was mostly thanks to my teacher Vivian, as her disciple I was revered the same way as she did, considering they thought of her as a divinity back in the day."

Vivian?! The same Vivian who was one of the strongest fae to ever exist in history that Vivian?!

Medea couldn't believe what she just heard, although she never heard of lady Vivian having a disciple, but then again she hardly knew the great fae.

Then the self- proclaimed disciple of lady Vivian stared back at her and said. "So, what are you exactly? You're neither a human or a living being…"

It was obvious to see that the fae in front of her was interested in what she is, having no choice but to inform her about herself because offending a fae is no brainer.

"Milady, I'm what you would call a heroic spirit.."

Thus she blurted almost everything about herself to the fae.

A/N - I'm back! It's been months, I'm sorry for not updating for the past months either way I'm back at updating daily and now confident of finishing this story and picking up the fanfics I've stopped updating.

I'm not making new fanfic as long as this isn't a finished product, because I needed to learn discipline.

Either way, I really, really love misunderstanding but considering the nature of this fanfic it wouldn't last long but oh well, it's still a fun session though.

Support me on P@.treon, even if it's just for a month I'd be really grateful.
