Raj got out of the bus and sat beside the road, sighing in defeat. The weight of the recent events pressed heavily on his shoulders. He pulled out his phone and dialed Sathya's number.
Raj (frustrated): Sathya, you won't believe the disaster your suggestion caused.
Sathya (sounding concerned): What happened, Raj?
Raj (sighing deeply): I tried to take the selfie, but the bus hit a pothole, and I accidentally kissed Geetha. The camera clicked, and now she thinks I'm a creep.
Sathya (after a moment of stunned silence, then teasing): Sorry, Raj, but how was I to know you'd end up taking a selfie of a kiss? I didn't know you were that kind of guy!
Raj : Very funny, Sathya. I'll get even with you for this.
Looking around, Raj realized he was only 3-4 kilometers outside Hyderabad. He decided to call home and get a ride.
Raj (dialing and speaking to the servant head): Hey, it's Raj. Can you pick me up? I'm just outside Hyderabad, around 3-4 kilometers away.
Servant Head (reassuringly): Yes, sir. I'll be there in 30 minutes max. Please wait there, and we'll come to get you.
Raj (relieved): Thanks. I'll wait here.
He disconnected the call and sat by the roadside, the cool night air helping to clear his mind. As he waited, he couldn't help but replay the events of the evening in his head, hoping that somehow, things might eventually be set right with Geetha.
As Raj sat by the roadside, waiting for his ride, his mind wandered back to a painful chapter in his life. He remembered another misunderstanding that had changed the course of his life.
It was the night of his engagement to Amulya, the love of his life. The celebration was in full swing, the air filled with laughter and joy. But then, in a moment that shattered his heart, he saw his half-brother, Bantu, kiss Amulya. Bantu, who had harbored feelings for Amulya, acted out of his love for her. While it was understandable, it was deeply hurtful for Raj.
Raj remembered the confusion and betrayal he felt that night. Bantu's actions, although driven by genuine emotion, caused a rift that seemed insurmountable. Yet, despite this, Bantu had been there for him in times of need, even risking his life to rescue Raj from a dangerous situation.
Amulya's tears that night haunted him still. When he later met her, she cried for him, her sorrow evident as he said goodbye. Raj couldn't help but believe that Amulya had genuine feelings for him. Otherwise, why would she have agreed to marry him in the first place?
Raj (thinking to himself): Life has a cruel way of testing us. Amulya was forced into a situation beyond her control, much like the one I just faced with Geetha. Misunderstandings can twist the truth.
The sound of an approaching car pulled Raj from his thoughts. His ride had arrived. As he stood up, he resolved to clear things up with Geetha and amulya when the time was right. For now, he needed to focus on the next steps and hope that time would heal the wounds of the past and present.
Raj (to himself, determined): I won't let misunderstandings define my relationships anymore. I'll find a way to set things right with Geetha , amulya and bantu.
As the car pulled up, Raj was surprised to see Bantu in the driver's seat. He waved his hand, a mix of surprise and relief on his face.
Raj: Bantu! What are you doing here?
Bantu (smiling): I came to pick you up, of course. Now, get inside the car. What are you waiting for?
Raj got into the car, and Bantu started driving towards Hyderabad and home.
Bantu: So, how are you? I've been hearing about your adventures. Subrahmanyapuram the Lord Kartikeya temple conspiracy, thrashing some goons in Vijayawada, and then beating up those attackers in Kakinada who ambushed the bus. You saved a lot of people there.
Raj (chuckling): Those were some exciting days. It's only been a few weeks since all that happened.
Bantu: DGI uncle has been busy with those cases ever since. He even came to Mother Yashu to ask you to come back. he say the way you're going, it seems like you want to solve all the problems of the state.
Raj (sighing): It's not that, Bantu. I just want to make a difference where I can.
Raj hesitated, then took a deep breath. "Bantu, I want to ask you something. Take your time and give me an honest answer."
Bantu, caught off guard, glanced at Raj before returning his eyes to the road. "Sure, Raj. Ask away."
Raj steeled himself. "Do you still love Amulya?"
Bantu was silent for a moment, his face a mix of emotions. Finally, he spoke with determination. "No, I'm not in love with Amulya anymore. At first, I wanted her to be mine. But after that incident and as I watched you go on your journey, After that thinking things again ,I realized she never wanted me. It was always me chasing after her. She never reciprocated my feelings. She saw me as a funny friend in Paris, which I mistakenly took for love."
Raj listened intently, appreciating Bantu's honesty.
Bantu continued, "After that, I talked to her and apologized for causing that incident. She hasn't forgiven me till today, and I understand why. I'll always try to repent and make it up to her. But all things considered, I want to move on."
Raj nodded, a sense of relief washing over him. "Thank you for telling me that, Bantu."
bantu "I still owe you for so much more. It's the least I can do for you."
Raj smiled. "So, what are you doing now?"
Bantu's face brightened. "I'm learning and helping with the business, with father Jayaram's guidance. It keeps me busy and focused. Plus, it feels good to be doing something productive."
Raj felt a surge of pride for his brother. "That's great to hear, Bantu. I'm glad you're finding your way."
Bantu nodded. "Yeah, me too. And remember, Raj, no matter what happens, you've got me on your side."
