章節 158: Chapter 158: Pure-Blood Families Will Support Us

*Hogwarts, Quidditch Pitch*

The Quidditch pitch was bustling with activity today. Wizards filled the stadium, taking seats in the surrounding auditoriums and eagerly watching the raised platform on the middle lawn. Sitting at the front were mostly wizards from pure-blood families, while the mixed-blood wizards and Squibs occupied the seats further back. The seating arrangement made their status and hierarchy abundantly clear.

Those at the front, with clear views of the platform, had expressions ranging from neutral to visibly annoyed, as if someone was robbing them of their wealth. In contrast, the further back one looked, the more excited and anticipatory the expressions became. As more and more wizards filled the audience, the stadium grew increasingly noisy.

"A Squib turning into a wizard has been a problem in the wizarding world for thousands of years. I didn't expect that we could witness this scene. It's worth bragging about in the future."

"Haha, you're right. This event will give us something to talk about for years to come."

The topic spread from the back of the stands to the front, where members of pure-blood families overheard and snorted coldly, frowning at the platform opposite, deep in thought.

"Lucius, it seems that your method has no effect," Kane Parkinson, a fellow school board member, joked.

Lucius Malfoy replied calmly, "I never intended to win solely by relying on public opinion. I just wanted to put some pressure on Dumbledore and his supporters. It's not a big deal if I fail. There will be many opportunities later."

"Oh?" Kane suddenly became interested. "Can we talk? Do you need help from the Parkinson family?"

He knew Lucius was a sensible man. Since he dared to speak out, it meant he really had a plan. Lucius smiled and said, "There are indeed some things that require everyone's cooperation."

Kane's smile grew brighter, confirming that Lucius indeed had a plan.

*Backstage*

Lockhart was preparing backstage while Filch, the Hogwarts caretaker, sat opposite him, looking nervous. After discovering he could successfully cast magic, Filch had been full of gratitude towards Lockhart. When he saw someone slandering Lockhart in the newspaper, he immediately ran to Lockhart's office, offering to testify for him. Lockhart had told him not to worry yet and to "let the bullets fly for a while longer," a phrase Filch didn't understand but trusted nonetheless.

Now, hearing the constant discussions from the people around him, Filch slowly began to understand what Lockhart meant. This realization made him even more excited.

"Relax, Filch. I believe you can do it," Lockhart's comforting voice reached his ears. Filch nodded quickly and promised, "Okay, Professor, I will relax."

Seeing Filch's continued nervousness, Lockhart waved his wand, enveloping Filch in a pale yellow light. Filch immediately felt much relieved, his expression relaxing as his trembling legs steadied.

"Filch, I suggest you try meditation. It can help you calm down and prepare better for what's next," Lockhart advised.

"Okay, Professor," Filch nodded, closing his eyes to meditate.

Professor Flitwick, watching this scene, smiled at Lockhart, "Lockhart, after today, you will become the hope for many Squibs. What are you going to do next?"

Lockhart glanced at Filch, who was listening carefully, and spoke slowly, "My next plan is to further promote meditation in the wizarding world. Not only for Squibs but also for wizards. Let's make our wizarding world more prosperous and great again."

Professor Flitwick praised, "Lockhart, you are young and motivated. I believe you can do it."

He laughed at himself, "A middle-aged wizard like me has long since lost that drive. For the rest of my life, I'll be content to stay at Hogwarts and teach students."

"Professor, don't worry," Lockhart reassured. "I'll need your help with many things later. I mentioned to Principal Dumbledore before that when the meditation method is officially promoted, Hogwarts will also admit Squibs. I'll need your assistance then."

"Really?" Professor Flitwick was surprised. "Dumbledore will actually recruit Squibs to the school?"

As the head of Ravenclaw house, Flitwick knew that Hogwarts relied heavily on the school board, composed of pure-blood families, for much of its funding. Admitting Squibs would significantly increase the demand for funds, and 80% of the school board would not compromise. Additionally, the implementation of the meditation method at Hogwarts would double the impact on pure-blood families.

He decided to advise Lockhart, "Lockhart, recruiting Squibs will definitely require negotiations with the school board. Don't forget who the people on the board are."

Lockhart smiled meaningfully, "Don't worry, Professor Flitwick. Maybe pure-blood families will support us."

Professor Flitwick was confused but didn't press further when Lockhart showed no intention of explaining. The complexities were too intricate.

Soon, Professor Flitwick and Lockhart continued to discuss the plan. Flitwick was going to appear with Lockhart, supporting him. He had no doubt that today's event would spread throughout the wizarding world.

章節 159: Chapter 159: Squib Filch’s Spellcasting

The sunshine in autumn is always the most pleasant. The warm rays combined with the gentle breeze created a perfect atmosphere. On the Quidditch pitch at Hogwarts, a large crowd of wizards and Squibs had gathered. Despite the heat and the gusts of autumn wind, the air was filled with excitement and anticipation.

All eyes were focused on the high platform in the middle of the lawn, where the event everyone had been eagerly awaiting was about to begin. Suddenly, dark clouds covered the sky, causing a murmur of suspicion among the wizards. However, no one was too worried, as this was Hogwarts, and Dumbledore himself was present, sitting at the front.

Then, under everyone's gaze:

Buzz!

A pale golden light beam pierced through the dark clouds, shining directly onto the high platform. In the middle of this beam, three figures quietly emerged, walking step by step towards the platform. To everyone's surprise, a huge magic projection appeared above the sky, capturing the three figures in the light beam and displaying them for all to see.

The wizards recognized the last two figures—Professors Lockhart and Flitwick. But the person leading them was none other than Argus Filch, the caretaker of Hogwarts, which caused a stir among the crowd. They realized that Filch, known for being a Squib, was the protagonist of today's event.

As the three figures landed on the high platform, Lockhart looked at the massive magic projection in the sky and nodded in satisfaction. He waved his wand, and the dark clouds dissipated, while the pale golden light beam disappeared, leaving the projection visible to everyone in the audience. Lockhart pointed his wand at his throat and cast a silent amplification spell, ensuring his voice could be heard across the Quidditch pitch.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he began, "no, I should change my wording. Dear wizards and future wizards, welcome to this event where we will witness the solving of a thousand-year-old problem in the wizarding world."

Lockhart's voice fell, and the Squibs seated behind the audience clapped enthusiastically, their excitement palpable. The wizards were also moved by the applause, and even the pure-blood wizards at the front clapped politely.

"Today is destined to be a day remembered in the history of magic," Lockhart continued. "Because starting today, we will officially embrace the largest group in the wizarding world, the Squibs. They will enjoy the beauty of magic with us, and we will no longer have to worry about whether our children can become wizards. There will no longer be Squibs in the wizarding world; everyone has the opportunity to become a wizard."

Hearing this, many wizards and witches with families cheered, some even crying with joy. They knew the heartbreak of having a child become a Squib and were elated at the prospect of a future without that fear.

Lockhart observed the pure-blood wizards sitting at the front, noting their displeased expressions. But he didn't care; his words had successfully roused the emotions of most of the audience. He continued, "I know the reports of the past few days may have caused some wizards to wonder, but I believe that everything will change after today."

"Now, let's welcome our hero—Argus Filch."

Filch waved hello to everyone and raised his wand. Under Lockhart's conscious control, a large close-up of Filch appeared in the magic projection. Professor Flitwick stepped forward and spoke into the amplification spell.

"Filch, I believe, is known to all the wizards here. Since I became a professor at Hogwarts, I've taught countless students, and Filch has welcomed countless students. Everyone knows that Filch has always been eager to learn magic, but due to his circumstances, he never succeeded. But now, with Professor Lockhart's research and teachings, Filch can cast magic."

"Although he is old, he can now proudly say that he is a wizard." Professor Flitwick turned to Filch. "Filch, let's show everyone your magic."

Flitwick took out a small box from his space extension belt, opening it to reveal three Quidditch balls—the Quaffle, the Bludger, and the Golden Snitch. Lockhart controlled the magic projection to display the three Quidditch balls, raising anticipation among the audience.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" Filch chanted, waving his wand skillfully. A pale white light emerged from the tip of his wand and hit the Quaffle, making it float slowly. The crowd watched in awe as Filch moved the Quaffle around, their cheers especially loud from the Squibs.

Lockhart kept the projection focused on Filch, who returned the Quaffle to the box and then took out a magic broom. He mounted it, and Professor Flitwick controlled the Bludger to fly upwards. The audience watched expectantly.

Under the watchful eyes of many wizards, Filch flew up on the magic broom. Though the flight was shaky and not very high, it was a momentous occasion for everyone to see a Squib flying.

After a short flight, Filch landed the broom slowly. Lockhart turned his attention to the third Quidditch ball, the Golden Snitch, with a glimmer of expectation in his eyes.
