章節 65: You are not a monster
AN: This chapter will describe about the true mental condition of Maki. But it will also help her character development and move on from her past. This is my first time writing this kind of chapter. But I will try my best.

You are not a monster
Roma looked at the roasted meat that, Maki was eating. It looked like a piece of normal roasted meat. But in reality, it was the flesh of a world noble.
Roma wondered how the world government would react when they will find about Maki making dinner out of their prized celestial dragons.
But seriously, she was not expecting her to eat the flesh of another human.
"You really are a monster." Roma said subconsciously.
But Maki didn't mind her and continued to focus on her food.
After destroying all the marine ships, Maki and Roma escaped along with the kids who were about to be gifted to the celestial dragons as slaves, to her shadow world. After that they met up with Roxx and Kureha and travelled towards the island of Gwalior. It was a small government non affiliated Island. But due to the large farmland, the island was self sufficient. After dropping the kids in the island and giving them some money to survive, they went to a no-man island to rest.
In the distance, Roxx sat solemnly. He didn't want to imagine what kind of torture Maki has went through to behave like this. He could understand her wanting to kill or destroy celestial Dragons but eating the flesh of someone was really extreme.
Roxx has heard her saying this many times before. But seeing it in action really affected him. Maki was not cancelling out the observation haki with her conqueror's haki. So Roxx was able to perceive Maki's emotions.
The wounds heals with time. But for a normal human, scars never does.
Roxx pushed his observation haki to it's limit along with his devil fruit powers to 'scan' the emotions hiding deep inside such a strong girl who could literally challenge the entire world government all by herself.
Luckily his observation haki was more developed towards the aspect of finding other's motives, than predicting danger.
He felt like he must help her no matter what. Maki is not a monster that she claims to be. But if she doesn't deal with her scars soon enough, then someday she might truly snap. And if that happens, she might truly turn into a monster that she claims to be.
Diving deep into her emotions, under an immovable will power Roxx found sadness. There was nothing except for sadness. The weight of those emotions made Roxx loose his concentration.
Maki looked at Roxx for a brief moment before diving back to the meat.
Roxx widened his eyes.
He realised how Maki was dealing with so much pain and sadness.
Although the strength of her willpower was unimaginable, that doesn't mean she wasn't suffering.
Infact Roxx couldn't even imagine how much Maki was suffering right now.
But what was truly astonishing was her will power was still way stronger than her pain.
But instead of drowning in sadness, she was focusing all her willpower towards her hate. That's why she thinks herself as a monster whose soul purpose was to devour celestial dragons.
It made Roxx even more determined to help Maki. He knew that he couldn't heal her mental scars even with the power of his op op fruit. But he was at the end of his life. He knew that Kureha will be safe once they reached the drum island. But after that he was planning to do something that he has never thought of doing before.

"If your shadow world is same as the real world, then shouldn't we just travel in the shadow world ? That way those geezers won't be able to find us." Roma asked Maki.
"It won't work in the grand line. It is way safer than real world for sure since you can't drown in the sea of the shadow world. But if we want to go on an specific Island in the grand line, we need the log pose to lock onto the magnetic fields of the next Island. And it won't be possible in the shadow world." Maki explained.
"It's a shame but I guess we have to go in the pirate's way. But it won't be easy. There is no way, the world government hasn't assigned a bounty on our heads yet." Roma said sighing.
"The Sandal island will be our last stop before we go for the grand line. If we have been assigned any bounty, by the world government, then I guess, we will find out about it soon enough." Maki replied.
"*Slap*" all of them were stunned when Kureha walked towards Maki and slapped her. Since she didn't have any hostile intentions towards Maki before slapping her, she was also very surprised.
"That was unhealthy ! You shouldn't eat any meat without cooking ! You ate the bodies of those two pirates before giving me their heads for bounties ! Didn't you !" Kureha started to scold maki.
All of there mouth opened wide in shock.
"""But the hell are you scolding her/me for !"""
"""You should scold her/me for eating human flesh in the first place !!!"""
"""It is as if you are supporting her/me on it !"""
All of them exclaimed simultaneously !
"Shut up !!!"
*Boom*Bang*Boom*
"What the hell ! Did she just use armament Haki ?" Roma exclaimed as a large bump appeared on her head.
"It hurts ! She didn't even show any mercy to her own grandpa !" Roxx complained care Singh his own bump on his head.
"What the hell ! Why didn't I sense that attack coming ! And how in the world she could even hurt me ?" Maki was also shocked. There was a small bump in her head.
