Lake would drop the Alpha off at his cooking school, sometimes bumping into Caspian before he went off to the company.

It was just the first week but he was settling in nicely, his face starting to become familiar to the executives in Haines and the kingpins running its grimy underworld.

The week was over in the blink of an eye and with the weekend came Caspian's wedding. Lake had ditched all of his appointments in a heartbeat to accompany his friend to pick out an outfit.

Managing that without Davian or Asher tagging along was a feat in itself.

It was a Friday afternoon, and whatever needed his attention could either wait or Rosie would deal with it.
