The next day, Lake was out of breath on his walk to the park, and he hadn't been running.

It made him think that he was definitely coming down with something because he had felt out of sorts some days back too.

Maybe it was his body giving him signals… and honestly, Lake didn't want to fall sick.

Not just because it sucked but because there would be no one to take care of him, and that brought back painful memories.

But he was almost at the park so he might as well just continue the trip. If only to tell Clint that he might not show up to the park for the next couple of days.

That wasn't necessary though because the park was completely empty.

Save for Freida, of course, but at this point, she was more of a fixture in the empty but serene park.

Clint wasn't here…

He wasn't just here for the Alpha though so he quickly got over his odd absence, settling down on a bench to catch his breath.
