The next evening, we had to attend a gala. I wasn't exactly talking to him but I had promised to go with him, so here I was getting dressed.

Once I finally felt good enough, I stepped out of the room. I was nervous as I have never been to such an event. Ivan had told me that the very important people would be there, big business people that I probably have only read about in the tabloids.

My green dress was elegant, I know. It was a corset with a tiny strap, long and flowing. It was tight up until mid thigh and then flowed to the ground. I wore a beautiful silver jewelry set that Ivan had secretly placed in my room that morning.

As I walked down the stairs, he stared at me with a wide smile on his face. He reached out his hand to me and I took it with a thin smile on my face. I wasn't happy with him but still, I wasn't mad, I just was not being the sweet girlfriend I should be.
