"Hm, well, I do have a charity auction event to attend in New York this Saturday. I was about to cancel my attendance, but if I can meet you there, then I'll fly back to New York," Lucien said, emphasizing Winter's attendance. "I've been worrying about you, Winter. You and Aiden are two inseparable lovebirds, and I know that you are devastated by his sudden passing. So, seeing you in person would give me relief."

Winter already knew about this charity event, she was just baiting Lucien into agreeing, so she could meet him with Sebastian. Hopefully, Sebastian was savvy enough to get a contract with Lucien. 

"I'd be more than happy to see you there," Winter said, and she wasn't lying, because Lucien's presence could be a breakthrough for her company. 

"Oh? You're excited to meet me, huh?" Lucien said.

Winter sensed that Lucien was delighted with what she said just now, but she didn't understand why. They were just acquaintances at best.
