章節 8: .

Moon knew where Terra lived. That was because every day, without fail, she had checked if her host planet had left her house. It had only actually worked once - which had been that morning. She had delightfully received news from her spirits that Terra had left home. Hopefully, she was still somewhere in the alleys. Ae was following her somewhere, and even though Moon didn't try to turn around or spot the yellow-haired messenger, she felt eyes at the back of her neck, causing the hairs on her arms to rise. Besides, Ae was a master at sneaking around and generally being stealthy, which was why Moon found it better to leave her alone.

The streets were empty and deserted, and a dark, thick mist had settled all around her. It was cold, but soon was somewhat used to it. What she wasn't used to was not being able to see a single meter in the haze of swirling white. Moon pulled her cloak tighter around herself, double-checking the buttons, and then called, "Terra?"

There was no reply. Moon felt a pebble bounce off her head, and she looked upwards to see Ae crouching on the shingled roof above her, making a displeased face and multiple hand gestures at her. Moon didn't have to understand to guess what they meant. Oddly enough, even if she couldn't see in front of her, she could see the Metroid watching her.

"She's not here." Moon mouthed back, and another pebble bounced off her head, this time slightly bigger in size. "I said she's not here!" Moon snapped, anger growing a bit, and raised her hand to shield herself from more pebbles.

"Who's not here?" came a voice from behind Moon. moon almost instantly turned. She turned to see Terra, now wearing a hood. Moon glanced back at the roof where Ae had been two seconds ago, but there was no one or nothing there instead of a plume of murky mist. Typical. Moon realized her eyebrows were furrowed with annoyance, and she quickly tried to smooth them out.

"You. I was looking for you." Moon said to her, calmly. Or at least trying to be calm, but her fists were clenched so hard it left crescent marks in her palms. If Ae did a single thing to her host planet, Moon was pretty sure she would explode and kill both the annoying meteoroids herself. Ae wouldn't do anything to Terra in front of her - and she had gotten her wish of seeing the planet in person anyway. Her fists loosened slightly. So, for now, as long as she pretended to be a lovable, nice person, Terra would hopefully want to leave the barrier with her. Moon felt a twinge of guilt - using her host planet for her selfish desires. What a good person she was.

"You were looking for me?" Terra echoed, and Moon blinked back to the present. It was something that needed to be done - no point in feeling guilty. "Yes, I'd like to be friends with you. Anyway, I'm sorry I had to leave earlier. Something came up," Moon said, trying her best to seem likable. She needed Terra to like her.

"Ah, then, did you do that something…?" Terra asked hesitantly, and Moon held up a thumb. "Yep. I can hang out with you now." Moon still felt eyes on her, so she grabbed Terra's hand and said, "Would you like to look at the moon together?" Aka, look at herself. How vain. Anyway, that was Ae's cue to disappear, and Terra stared at her, surprised. Moon probably seemed like she was insane to Terra, but oh well. It couldn't be helped. However, soon Terra wasn't looking at her with confusion or disdain, but something else. Friendship. Uh. Maybe something more than that.

"Sure," Terra said, smiling, and Moon again felt a twinge of guilt.

Was this really… right?
