章節 14: "Returning to the base..."
"Alright, enough of these words I can't understand," came Little Ling's voice again. "I'm nearby now."
Nearby? Where? Wang Weiya glanced around but saw nothing.
"I really doubt your intelligence. Why did they choose you to be the Wanderer? Haven't you forgotten that Purple Light has invisibility capabilities? Whatever. Remember the strange things I told you about Purple Light last time? Well, since there's no one around now, you have to come and see it for yourself. I'm just two hundred meters to your left."
Wang Weiya stood up and looked around. After making sure no one was following him, he quickly walked to the left.
After about two hundred meters of walking through darkness, a faint light appeared ahead, followed by the opening of a door.
It was the Purple Light military base, and Wang Weiya walked in quickly...
Strangely, as soon as he entered, he felt that the atmosphere was somewhat different from when he left last time. But he couldn't quite pinpoint what exactly was different.
But seeing Little Ling again, Wang Weiya's mood inexplicably lightened.

Below the computer screen, a red progress bar appeared, with the words "Self-Transformation Upgrade" above it.
Wang Weiya's face became serious. "Is this what you're talking about?"
"Yes," Little Ling's reply was very quick. "I have no idea how this came about, and I can't control it either. I suspect it's another top-secret program designed by Dr. Qin Ji'nan, but unfortunately, I don't know where this program is in my system."
Dr. Qin again! Wang Weiya couldn't help but curse inwardly at the mention of that name.
And not even knowing what this program is for or where it's hidden?
Wang Weiya glanced at it. The progress bar was now slightly over one percent, but after looking for a while, he couldn't figure out what it meant. "What about the 'Soarer Plan'?"
"Touch the red progress bar."
Following Little Ling's instructions, Wang Weiya touched the progress bar, and a page appeared: "Soarer Plan activated, initiator: Wanderer. Start time: September 11, 1916, end time: November 1, 1918. Phase one objective, hold the B position at the Somme River. Task completion progress search: Wanderer phase one task one completed, providing tank support once, tank assembly complete, status: standby. Start password identity recognition: Wanderer..."
Phase one task one? What was it? When did he complete it?
"Don't ask me, I still haven't cracked it," Little Ling's words immediately shattered Wang Weiya's hope. "You left last time threatening me to provide support, now you know, support comes with conditions."
Damn Dr. Qin, Wang Weiya cursed inwardly again. Even though the person is dead, why create so many mysterious things and not just reveal the answer straightforwardly?
Since he couldn't figure it out, he simply stopped thinking about it. "Where are my tanks?"
A "clatter" sound was heard, and a door opened. Three mighty tanks appeared silently in front of Wang Weiya.
"German No. 1 B-type tank!" Little Ling's voice came. "Officially produced in 1935, length 4.42 meters, width 2.06 meters, height 1.72 meters, maximum armor thickness: 13 mm. Armament: MG137.92 mm machine guns, two of them..."
Little Ling's introduction was very detailed.
Wang Weiya stared, his eyes widened. Once these three No. 1 B-type tanks were deployed, the firepower support they could provide in this era would be very powerful!
Suddenly, he had some questions. "Wasn't it said that only weapons slightly ahead of this era could be used? But the B-type tank wasn't born until 1935."
"I'm not entirely sure," Little Ling answered honestly. "It should be self-supporting firepower after you complete the mission."
Wang Weiya nodded. Perhaps only Qin Ji'nan's resurrection could clarify what was going on in this matter.
"Alright, now I'm going to install a communication device for you." Little Ling's words interrupted Wang Weiya's thoughts. "This special device will be installed into your left ear, absolutely undetectable, and then you can communicate with the base through it. And my voice can only be heard by you."
Wang Weiya sat down, and a mechanical arm quickly held a tiny object the size of a rice grain and slowly approached Wang Weiya's left ear.
After a slight pain, Little Ling's voice suddenly came into Wang Weiya's ear. "Clarity test."
"Very clear," Wang Weiya replied. Then he stood up and suddenly asked a strange question, "What if I want to remove it?"
"Come back here." Little Ling didn't understand how these human brains worked. Instead of asking crucial questions, they asked irrelevant ones.
After reloading the submachine gun, Wang Weiya whimsically said, "Can you get me an Uzi submachine gun?"
"I suggest you test your IQ in your spare time," Little Ling must be very speechless now. Despite repeatedly reminding him of the weapons he could use in this era, why ask such strange questions?
"I also suspect that my IQ is a bit low, otherwise I wouldn't have taken on this damn mission," Wang Weiya muttered as he stored away the weapons. He came to the three tanks, feeling reluctant to part with them. It was a pity that they could only be used once. When would he receive support again? Who knew?
This darn mission, how can one get support? Wang Weiya racked his brains but couldn't figure it out.
After tidying up his clothes, when he walked to the exit of the base, Wang Weiya smirked and turned back to ask a question he had asked before:
"Little Ling, why do I feel like you must have fallen in love with me."
As expected, without suspense, Little Ling said the word that made Wang Weiya feel "familiar":
"Get lost!"
