章節 21: Forgiveness
Juli sat on the floor for a few moments. Then she stood and walked toward the study table. She took her record book or diary. She completed the previous day 1 page, which she was not able to complete yesterday.
"Flavia and Quintus caught me. They know that I'm not Livia. I'm Juli."
"Reasons to get caught (The only reasons, I've learned till now)
Lifeless eyes Left-handed Patting the head Laziness Different tastebuds Not enough knowledge about this world."
Juli agreed with the last reasons but with lifeless eyes. She turned toward the mirror. She wanted to take a close look into her eyes. Her eyes were swollen because she had cried earlier.
It was true. Her eyes had no spark or life in them. Those yellow eyes were nothing but just a medium to see things. There was neither excitement nor fear in these eyes.
She got sickened by this sight because she was looking like a ghost in the dim candlelights in her room. So, she shifted her attention toward the diary again. She started to write again.
"Three of us had agreed to make Flavia happy after I told them almost everything. I knew. They also wanted to see Livia back."
She drew an ending line.
"Day 2", she turned to the next page and wrote it.
"Flavia is my new teacher."
"Quintus is acting like my younger brother now and he trusts me a little bit."
"I got a good beating from Flavia. She is a gorilla."
"Three of us met Lucius and Domita. Flavia had learned about Lucius and felt betrayed."
"I told Flavia about my past. My horrible and upsetting past. She pitied me. But I hope it cheers her up and she won't make the same mistake after taking a suggestion from a senior."
Juli thought her diary looked plain. She added a few more things because half the page was still blank.
"Learned about Curia Sulla and Julia Sulla."
While she wrote this line she said, "Oh, my name is also Julia. So, it means that it is not a foreign name here. It is the name of the House of Commoners. Wowww... But what is wow here? Why is my name not Curia?" She complained like a kid.
"Learned two more words, Salvete (Informal greeting for more than one person) and Ave (Formal greeting can be used for one or more than one person)."
Juli was still not satisfied. She wrote more about the Curia Sulla and Juli Sulla.
She was almost done writing when someone knocked at the door. She opened the door.
A maid was standing there with bandages and some other things. She said, "Domina Flavia had ordered me to change your bandages and massage your body."
Juli let her in. She changed her bandages. Gave her a head massage. This massage was soothing. Juli almost fell asleep. Then another maid came and gave her a lukewarm milk with honey. It was also ordered by Flavia. She drank it and instantly fell asleep.
Juli had a wonderful sleep that night. It was the first night in this world. When she was able to sleep without any nightmares. She got ready and joined Flavia and Quintus for breakfast.
They had breakfast in silence. After breakfast, Flavia signaled all the maids to leave the hall. When everyone left. Flavia announced, "I'll not marry Lucius. I've decided."
"So, do you want revenge?", Juli inquired.
"No, it is his life. He is free to make decisions. I've no intention of taking revenge.", Flavia answered.
"So, you're going to forgive him.", Juli asked.
"It's better to forget. I can't live like this always. I have a long life ahead.", Flavia said.
Juli wanted her to move on, but she had decided to end her ten-year-long relationship in ten hours. What a savage girl. She thought.
Juli suddenly remembered Anna's first breakup. Her boyfriend was also not sincere with her. She cried for a few hours and then watched her favorite movie. In the morning, she packed all his gifts again and then used those gifts for the next few months to give all the girls she hated.
"Teenagers fall in love easily and get over it easily as well.", Juli thought. But she looked at Flavia again and thought again, "No, it's not easy to get over someone you used to love. But it is good that they are mature enough to detach themselves from toxic people. Even though in most cases they are the ones who are manipulative. But that is not the case now."
But she was happy that Flavia had made a good decision. almost half of her problem was solved. Now, the only thing left was for Flavia to find her true happiness.
"I appreciate your thoughts but Flavia. You know, your engagement is already registered. There is no way you can cancel your marriage now.", Quintus told Flavia.
"Brother, do you want me to marry that cheater? You shouldn't open your mouth because I'm very angry at you. You kept me in the dark.", Flavia complained.
"I apologize. I didn't want to see you get hurt.", Quintus apologized.
"I still got hurt but the reason is not Lucius. The reason is you and Livia. Both of you kept me out of the picture. Livia summoned a foreigner and now I want to know what you did.", Flavia asked.
"I sent assassins.", Quintus murmured.
"What you did. Repeat it. You didn't tell me last night as well. When I asked you.", Flavia inquired.
Juli had heard what Quintus said because she was sitting on the next chair with Quintus.
"You can forgive Lucius then why don't you also forgive your brother and friend?", Juli tried to convince Flavia.
"He was a stranger, but they are my family, and they will be my family. How can they decide everything on their own without discussing anything with me? It is a problem of my life. My friend is performing black magic and sacrificing herself and my brother is hiring assassins. Why didn't both of you consider the consequences of your actions?", Flavia took a long breath.
"Livia made a selfish choice and Brother; you know that if any assassin would be caught. You could end up losing your position. You both are dimwit.", Flavia said in a teary voice.
"When you love someone, sometimes you ignore the consequences. But don't worry Flavia. You have a lot of time to nag them. Make sure to teach them a good lesson when Livia is back.", Juli lightened the mood.
Flavia nodded her head.
"Now, forgive both of them as well. They are very sorry.", Juli requested.
"I'll decide later. After punishing them properly.", Flavia declared.
"I'm ready for any punishment. But Flavia how will you avoid this marriage.", Quintus said.
