Fortunately, Kim and the head courtesan, Meng, were close by, enough to have heard Isaac scream, and rush to his aid.

Kim burst the door open and they forced their way in, only to meet Isaac sweating profusely and gasping for air as his chest heaved.

"Are you alright?" Meng asked, hurrying to his side and rubbing his back in an up and down movement to calm him down.

Isaac looked at him and nodded. "Yes. I'm fine, Meng."

He turned to Kim, having noticed the worried look that he wore.

"I said I'm fine, Kim," he said with a chuckle.

Isaac tried to lighten the tense atmosphere that was created but this was one of those few times where his friendliness was not going to have much influence. Maybe to him it was just a nightmare but Kim and Meng were very worried because whatever would have made him scream so loudly was something serious.

"Are you sure?" Meng asked, pressuring Isaac to reveal how he truly felt at the moment.
