Adam and Carl were still waiting for the auction to start but they knew that the auction itself could start itself by now if it had wanted to.

So the auction house remained quiet, waiting for the groups of people from different houses. Even though the auction house had some power and connections that could pull a lot of strings but they still waited as a show of respect to the great houses and some others similar to them.

Carl was drinking his third glass of high quality alcohol and as he was going for another gulp, he looked down to see that he had finished this one as well.
