"I'm in love with her, Draven," he spoke softly this time, his eyes dazed with sincerity, so pure it caused an ache in Madeline's bones. How? When had it happened?

She was certain Sebastian had not been acquainted with Elizabeth for a long time. How was he so certain of his feelings for her, and what hurt even more was the realization that Draven had never said those words to her.

A lump pressed into her throat, making it hard to breathe. Her gaze was fixed on Sebastian, who looked troubled but still confident in his words. "I am sorry for what Elizabeth has done, but I will make sure she apologizes. I will ensure it, Draven. But please," for a moment he blinked, as if unsure of what was happening, then let out a loud puff. "Let her stay," he gave Draven a little nod. "I want to keep her, truly." He gave a slight nod to both of them before ascending the stairs.
