Before coming here, Alaric had stopped for a satisfying meal from a quaint deli on 5th Avenue. The hearty sandwich and coffee had provided a much-needed boost after eating them after a long time. With his hunger sated, he looked up at the towering skyscraper before him. The sleek, modern design of the building stood in stark contrast to the warehouse where he had stayed the previous week. This was it: the pinnacle of luxury living in Midtown Manhattan.
The doorman, dressed impeccably in a dark blue uniform, greeted him with a polite nod. "Good afternoon, sir. How may I assist you today?"
"I'm here to inquire about renting the penthouse," Alaric replied, his voice steady and calm.
"Of course, sir. Please, follow me to the reception desk," the doorman responded, opening the door and gesturing for Alaric to enter.
Inside, the lobby was a blend of marble floors, high ceilings, and contemporary art. The receptionist looked up from her desk as they approached. "Good afternoon, sir. How can I help you today?"
"I'm interested in renting a penthouse," Alaric stated firmly. "The one that occupies the entire top floor."
The receptionist's the replied professionally and calmly. "Of course. May I have your name, sir?"
"Alaric Aurelius," he replied with a slight smile.
The receptionist calmly picked up the phone and spoke quietly into the receiver. Within minutes, a well-dressed man in his mid-forties appeared, extending his hand.
"Mr. Aurelius, I'm David Thompson. It's a pleasure to meet you," he said warmly.
"Likewise," Alaric replied, shaking his hand firmly.
"Shall we head up to the penthouse? I'm sure you'll want to see it firsthand," Thompson suggested.
Alaric nodded, and they made their way to the private elevator. The ride to the top floor was swift and smooth, the cityscape unfolding through the glass walls as they ascended. When the doors slid open, Alaric was greeted by an expansive space that seemed to stretch endlessly.
The penthouse was breathtaking. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered panoramic views of Central Park to the north and the Hudson River to the west. The open-concept living area was adorned with modern furniture, and the kitchen boasted the latest in high-end appliances.
"This penthouse is over 5,000 square feet," Thompson began, his voice echoing slightly in the vast space. "It features four bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, a state-of-the-art kitchen, a home office, and a private terrace with a hot tub."
Alaric walked slowly through the rooms, taking in the luxury. The master bedroom had a walk-in closet that could rival a small boutique and a bathroom that was more spa than bath. Stepping out onto the terrace, he felt the breeze on his face, looking out over the city that never sleeps.
"This is perfect," Alaric said, turning back to Thompson. "What are the terms for renting this place?"
Thompson smiled, pulling out a folder. "The monthly rent for the penthouse is $45,000. Given the location and amenities, it's competitive. We'll need a security deposit equivalent to two months' rent, and the lease term is flexible, though we typically prefer a minimum of one year."
Alaric did a quick calculation in his head. The total initial payment would be $135,000—$45,000 for the first month's rent and $90,000 for the security deposit. The price was steep, but the benefits were undeniable. The privacy, the space, and the sheer luxury of it all were worth the investment.
"I'll take it for one year," Alaric said.
"Excellent choice, Mr. Aurelius," Thompson replied, extending the contract. "If you'll just sign here, we can finalize everything."
Alaric took the pen and signed the lease. "How would you prefer the payment?" he asked.
"We typically handle payments through a direct transfer from your bank to ours," Thompson explained. "If you have your banking details, we can complete the transaction right here."
"Let's do it," Alaric agreed. He pulled out his checkbook he got from the system and wrote down the necessary information. Thompson made a quick call to their finance department, and within minutes, the transaction was completed.
"Everything is set, Mr. Aurelius," Thompson said, handing him the keys. "Welcome to your new home." and then left.
Alaric now had a penthouse—a base of operations in the city that never sleeps. This penthouse wasn't just a place to live; it was a statement, a fortress of solitude in the heart of the city where he could plot his next moves.
He then proceeds to enter his master bedroom, Alaric then tells Nano to start the body reconstruction process and calibrate fully with him.
"Nano start the body reconstruction process."
"Yes sir, but it is recommended to be unconscious before starting the process, It will be quite painful."
"Yes, please. I am not a masochist."
"Ok, Master will be unconscious in 3, 2, 1."
"Wai-"
"Master is now unconscious! Body reconstruction will start now!!"

As Alaric lay unconscious on the king-sized bed in his newly acquired master bedroom. Nano had already started began its work silently and efficiently, as he had instructed.
Inside his body, 6,482,040,000 Nanomachines worked meticulously and started being deployed throughout the body and connected centrally to Alaric's brain.
As the hours passed, Alaric's body emitted faint popping sounds, signifying the shifts and adjustments taking place. Nano expelled impurities, cleaned cellular debris, and accelerated healing processes. Acne marks, scars, and imperfections vanished as if they were never there, replaced by smooth, flawless skin.
The process was not only about aesthetics but also functionality. Bones subtly realigned, muscles adjusted and strengthened, and organs optimized for peak performance.
As Alaric's transformation neared completion. Nano meticulously calibrated itself to sync perfectly with his nervous system, enhancing reflexes and physical capabilities. As dawn broke over the city skyline, Nano completed its task. Alaric stirred slightly in his sleep, a contented smile playing on his lips.

<Next Morning>
The next morning, Alaric slowly woke from his sleep as sunlight streamed through the window, gently rousing him.
"Good morning, Master. Are you awake now?" Nano's voice brought Alaric fully to consciousness.
"Uhhh... Yes, I am" Alaric groaned.
Alaric rose from his now smelly and unkempt bed, ignoring its condition. He headed straight to the bathroom, which boasted an extra-large bathtub. He preferred cold water, even in the morning chill, and began filling the tub while preparing to clean himself up.
