THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Maverick," Valencia whispered, smiling softly as she still had a little consciousness left. 

She extended her hand for the man to take, and the man's gaze trembled. 

He walked to her and picked her in his arms. He took her to the bed and was about to place her when he saw the wrinkled bed sheet and the blood on the sheets near the head side, on the red button they had installed, and the broken lamp. 

The thought of what his woman had to go through in the meantime when he was having a meeting downstairs made him want to slap himself. 

"Alpha Maverick, you can take Miss Valencia to another guest room," Prince Ethan said. 

However, the man didn't hear him. 

Rather, Maverick's mind linked his beta to come inside along with Dylan. 

"Alpha–" Shadow wanted to ask what his alpha wanted, but the scene inside the room registered in his mind, and his gaze darkened.
