VALENCIA'S POV

The wolf turned its head and looked at me. His gaze held a swirl of emotions. 

I was mesmerized for a moment. It was almost as if he was trying to tell me he got me, and I gulped before nodding.

I nodded even when I didn't know what he was trying to tell me, but I guess it worked. 

My breathing was already hitched, and seeing the carnal fear in the rogue's eyes as they looked between the large wolf and me was indeed satisfying and adrenaline-infusing. 

Hearing the flap of wings, I noticed Happy flying back into the sky. I realized that if the wolf hadn't appeared right in time to save me, Happy was ready to reveal himself to the world.

I couldn't help but feel really lucky to have such people around me who are always ready to protect me through danger and do everything in their power to help me through dangerous situations.
