"Give me a moment; I have to make a call," I said to Maverick when he returned after making his call. I was about to walk out, but he held my hand.

"You can do it here. If you want some privacy, I can go out," Maverick said.

I didn't say anything. I just kept looking at him, smiling when his pupils dilated in realization.

"Seriously? You think I have this place tapped, and I will get to know what you talked to and whom you talked to?" Maverick asked me with clear disbelief in his eyes.

I shrugged.

"Even though I am with you for the moment, Aloha Maverick, let's not forget I am still a council member who sometimes works for them as a spy. It's protocol," I said.

Maverick rolled his eyes at me before leaving my hand.

"Just tell me what you want to eat so I can order it. I know one restaurant that serves marvelous food, and you would love it for sure," He said.
