章節 1: Into Isekai

First time writing... Hopefully it's good.

(Words: 1525)

_________

In a dark forest underneath the moon, a figure was lying on the dirt of the forest, illuminated by the moon's light.

"Arghh!" A grunt escaped the figure's mouth.

His eyes began fluttering before shooting wide open.

"Haaa! Haoof!" The figure breathed like he was suffocating before.

His breathing started to naturalize again, returning to its usual state. Finally, after calming down the breathing, the figure began to examine his surroundings.

'A forest...' His thoughts were racking it up, trying to figure out the situation. The figure gradually started to rise from the ground. He stood as high as his shadow.

"In a forest at night... Alone at that!" The guy standing amidst the woods mumbled. Then he started to check on his body, which was fine as he remembered.

The figure started to walk with caution in his steps under the moonlight covered by the light bloom. With him noticing his surroundings, he encountered some traces of footprints.

'These are not human-like nor animal-like... Man, what did I get myself into?" He muttered, analyzing the prints.

They weren't human-like. The foot had the shape of one with four tall toes.

'Holdup, is it Bigfoot?' The figure wandered in his silly thoughts.

...

After going through the forest, for what seemed like ages for the young man. He found a town, no rather a tiny village that looked like an old ruin eradicated without remorse.

He continued to walk through the village, advancing to the central part of it. The figure noticed bodies piled upon each other, blooded, and toured beyond recognition.

'What the hell happened here... I figured that I was in another world. But it does not seem like an ordinary one. It might be a fantasy setting of some sort.

Traces of arrows, daggers, and lifeless bodies lying all around. Truly disgusting. With those marks left on the people's bodies, death might be more merciful than getting that treatment.' The young man thought.

It was a site he was familiar with. The figure saw the same things in his last world. When he was 17, he found himself in another world as the son of a Count. That world was peaceful, just a medieval setting earth.

But it had its wars, either with other humans or barbarians. Now, an entire year later, he finds himself in another world.

The figure wandered around the village, trying to find something or someone of help. The young man already had picked a sword lying around. He didn't want to walk armless after all. Stuff can happen if he isn't ready.

'Everyone is dead here..." The figure muttered.

*Steps*

...

Turning my head around, I saw something crazy, no rather shocking. Weird, short, green-skinned humanoids. With pointy ears, claws, fangs, and long noses. Some of them were bald, while others had shaggy hair.

"Goblins," I mutter.

There were three eyeing me with vicious gazes. They looked disgusting the way they were smiling, with the nose-rattling smell filling the air.

Suddenly, they lunged at me with a screech. The first one was holding a cheap spear. The second had daggers, and the third held a short sword.

Approaching me ahead was the goblin with the spear. The first goblin thrusts the spear at my face, which I sidestepped. Before slashing my sword at the neck, beheading it high in the air before kicking the body towards the two.

The blood sprouted like a water hose from the neck, blinding the other two goblin's view. I dashed from the side to get the two caught off guard, but the dagger goblin thought of that as well.

He tried slashing at me to his avail. Unlike him, I had the range my arms were longer. I separated him in half with a downward slash, making his organs slip like a red river.

The last one was a few meters away, eying me with a crazed look, which confused me. I dodged to the right with a roll without much thinking. An arrow struck the place I was standing.

My guess was correct, though risky on my behalf. That last crazed smile was unsettling. Looking in the direction where the arrow came from, a goblin with a bow was there.

I was fighting a party of goblins.

"A sword, spear, dagger, and bow... what next the shield goblin." I said ridiculously.

I did another roll on the ground, picking the daggers on the floor. I ran straight into a house in the village, entering it before exiting it from the window behind.

I knew the two were following me, though a bit behind.

*Clack*

I heard the door of the house swing wide open from the outside. I was circling the house quietly. I reached the door, with the two standing in front of me.

They noticed me straight away, with their sensitive noses. But it was too late for the archer as his head was flying high. He was my priority, unlike the one using the short sword.

"Waaaa!" The last one swung his sword at me, which I kicked from his hand. He had a face of utter shock, like he lost the most prized thing ever. I swung the sword, bisecting him in the process like a twig.

"Hoof!.. That was something," I muttered, drawing a breath.

I feel the urge to vomit after taking a breath. Those goblins had the worst smell ever, even more so after death.

I need to leave the village, before more of them come.

...

The young man wandered until sunrise, trying to find a town or a kingdom. Suddenly, a red panel appeared in front of him, glowing brightly. He was startled, but then the teal-haired youth became excited when he realized what it was.

[A secret quest is. Completed!]

[Main Quest: Kill a pack of goblin.

Additional Quest: Finish it in under 5 minutes.]

[You've gained the following rewards!]

[Main Quest rewards:

[A map of the area.]

[Steel Sword.]

[25 Silver coins.]

[Additional Quest rewards:

[A potion of regeneration.]

"Nice a system." The youth exclaimed.

Suddenly, a panel with ten slots materialized. Each slot contained an item: the sword, map scroll, and coins.

'Let's check the map first.' He thought.

He extended his hand into the panel before pulling the scroll out of thin air. The teal-haired youth started to fold it wide open; it had an arrow pointing at his location.

'Westerner Frontier Town Map.' He thought aloud, reading the title above on the scroll.

'So I go straight in this way... Then go around towards the Left!" He pointed at the way to picture it. He walked, following what the map told him.

A clearing came into his sight, with the trees getting lower and lower. The figure finds himself in front of a large town shielded by towering stone walls.

People were entering and leaving the gates, guarded by knights clad in iron armor. Merchants, adventurers, civilians, and farmers were going in and out.

He entered through the gate and caught the attention of everyone. The youth didn't mind these looks and continued walking through.

The young youth reached a tavern at the center of the town, reading the sign it carried outside.

(Slots Tavern and Inn)

'What a misleading name... hahaha whatever.' The figure let out a laugh before going in.

*Ding*

"Welcome... welcome to the slots tavern and inn... What can I help you with." A young man said, bowing with respect.

"Hello, can I get a room for the night." The teal-haired youth said.

"Sure thing... What room would you like, the normal one for two bronze coins or the fancy one for six bronze coins?" The recipient asked.

"I will get the fancy one for the night." He answered, handing the man a silver coin he took from the inventory.

"A-A silver coin!" The recipient said aloud.

'What a generous noble... I was right. Hahaha... eat that you stupid boss... if you treat everyone with respect the world will give you good things back.' The recipient thought, dancing around in his mind.

"Can you show me my room!" The youth said.

"Y-Yes follow me please I will guide you!" Both went up the stairs, arriving in front of a door.

He thanked the worker before going into the room. He shut the door with a bang, startling the poor worker who fell.

"Ahh, my back!" The recipient screamed.

The teal-haired youth sat on the seat near the window, observing the bustling town outside.

"A world of adventures and monsters... What an upgrade from last year. Can't I catch a break? Ragdolled by a truck into a Meadville world and now stabbed into a fantasy world.

So, every time I die, I wake up in another world. And now I have a system, which is absurd, every system genre enjoyer craves for." He mumbled with no sound.

'I need to get strong... I wouldn't like to die each year. And then get thrown into a moon-level world someday. I'm a guy who likes to live peacefully, lazing around, traveling, and going to cool places. Well, I will rest for an hour before touring this town.' The youth thought.
