Alone in the dimly lit corridor, Seraphina's mind churned with tumultuous thoughts as she made her way to her chambers. The prince's cutting words echoed in her mind, each syllable a painful reminder of the cruel reality of her existence within the palace walls. She clenched her fists, the anger and frustration boiling within her like a tempest waiting to be unleashed.
Upon reaching her chambers, Seraphina closed the door behind her with a heavy sigh, her heart heavy with the weight of the prince's scorn. She longed for nothing more than to retreat into the safety of her bed and forget the events of the evening, to lose herself in the oblivion of sleep and escape the harsh realities of her world.
But as she removed her cloak and sank onto the edge of her bed, a nagging sense of unease tugged at the corners of her mind. Despite her weariness, she knew that sleep would not come easily tonight, not with the prince's cruel words still fresh in her memory.
With a resigned sigh, Seraphina rose from the bed and made her way to the small vanity that stood against the far wall. She gazed at her reflection in the mirror, her eyes haunted by the shadows of doubt and uncertainty that lurked within.
For a long moment, she stared at the image before her, searching for answers in the depths of her own reflection. But try as she might, she could find no solace in the familiar contours of her face, no respite from the relentless onslaught of doubt and fear that threatened to consume her from within.
With a heavy heart, Seraphina turned away from the mirror and sank onto the floor beside her bed, her thoughts consumed by the events of the evening.
