37.25% COTE but I'm a Horikita SIMP?! / Chapter 19: Island : Arrival

章節 19: Island : Arrival

"Holy shit! This cruise is crazy!" Yuto's exclamation echoed across the deck as he precariously balanced on the railings, much to the alarm of his classmates.

"Crazy bastard! If you fall you will die!" Kei's voice cut through the air, her tone laced with genuine concern as she watched Yuto with wide eyes.

"Eh? Who says I'm going to fall?" Yuto retorted, his arms crossed defiantly as he maintained his precarious position.

Before anyone could react, Ike's sudden shout of "Kikyou-chan!" sent Yuto into a panic, his balance faltering as he teetered on the edge. "I am going to fall!" he cried out in alarm.

But just as disaster seemed imminent, Horikita sprang into action, swiftly grabbing Yuto's shirt and pulling him down to safety, where he landed on his butt with an undignified thud.

"Thanks, Suzune-chan!" Yuto exclaimed gratefully, flashing Horikita a sheepish grin.

Horikita responded with a swift bonk on Yuto's head, her expression stern as she scolded him. "Idiot."

"It's not my fault!" Yuto protested, shooting a pointed glare in Ike's direction. "Ike, you bastard! I almost died!"

Meanwhile, Ayanokoji approached Yuto with his usual calm demeanor, tapping him on the shoulder as he spoke in his monotone voice. "Yuto, I'm going to eat. Will you join me?"

Yuto nodded eagerly, grateful for the opportunity to escape the chaos of the moment. "Sure thing," he replied, casting one last glance at the railing he had narrowly avoided falling from before following Ayanokoji and the other boys towards the dining area.

"Hey what kind of food is this..." Sudo finally said.

"It's french cuisine" Yuto said in a muffled voice.

"Why are you wearing a mask and weird sunglasses!" Yamauchi exclaimed. "They will recognise me if I don't." Yuto calmly said. "What are you? A celebrity?" Ike scoffed.

"You can say that..."

"Anyway lets order something." Yamauchi finally stated as he proceeded to shout to gain attention. Everyone looked at him with weird faces."Let's just go-" Ayanokoji got cut. "Your Class D, aren't you?" They all looked at the direction of the voice.

"Yeah? What if we are?" Sudo scoffed looking at a guy with olive hair.

"Litsen, this restruant has no place for garbage like you. Garbage should eat junk food." Sudo stayed paitant. He didn't ponce on olive until he said this, "Go get your selves some hamburgers." Sudo grabbed olive's collar as he shouted, "You got a problem with hamburgers you peice of shit?"

"Yahiko." A guy said. "Cease this ridiculous provocations." and while he said that Yuto pressed Sudo's hand and said, "Leave him Sudo.."

"You lot would do well to study some manners, aswell, to stop being a nuisance to those around you." Katsuragi stated.

A vein popped on Yuto's forehead as he replied, "The only thing being a nuisanse to my ears is you bald man."

Katsuragi looked at Yuto and asked, "who might you be?"

"A clown" Yahiko laughed. Kasturagi glared at him to shut him at once. yuto didn't let that slide though, "How can I be a clown when a dog like you knows more tricks than me."

Everyone chuckled at Yuto's joke as the class A students simply glared at Yuto. He sighed as he said, "Let's go have some hamburgers everyone, I don't want any monkeys in my vicinity while I'm eating." This comment ticked Yahiko off but didn't say anything.

As Yuto made his way to the designated meeting spot made by Horikita, anticipation bubbled within him. Upon arrival, he was greeted not only by Horikita and Ayanokoji, but also by the unexpected presence of Ryuen sitting beside her.

"Well, well, looks like your loyal hound has arrived, Suzune," Ryuen remarked with a sneer, his tone dripping with disdain.

Yuto's lips curled into a sardonic grin as he retorted, "Oh my, if it isn't Kakeru Rubin." Ryuen's expression soured at the jab, his annoyance evident as he corrected Yuto's mispronunciation of his name. "It's Ryuen," he grumbled, his tone tinged with irritation.

Yuto's eyes widened in mock surprise, his expression a picture of feigned innocence as he delivered his retort.

"My apologies," he began, his tone dripping with sarcasm, "but the resemblance between you and that pig named Rubin from that movie is quite striking."

Ryuen's expression twisted into a scowl as he launched a kick towards Yuto, who effortlessly dodged the attack with a smirk. Surprised by Yuto's agility, Ryuen prepared for another attack, only to freeze in astonishment as Yuto prepared to strike back aswell.

However, their impending clash was interrupted by the sudden appearance of a petite girl with short blue hair – Ibuki. Yuto's hostility evaporated as he recognized her, a hint of concern flickering in his eyes.

"Oh, Ibuki..." Ryuen murmured as he slowly freed himself from Yuto grasp and walking off with Ibuki. He turned around and looked at Yuto with a grin, "You might be entertaining."

Yet amidst the tension between him and Ryuen, Yuto couldn't help but notice the fatigue etched on Horikita's face.

"Hey, Suzune, are you feeling unwell?" Yuto inquired softly, his concern genuine as he met her gaze.

Horikita nodded in confirmation, her voice tinged with resignation as she admitted to a minor cold. Yuto offered a sympathetic nod.

The next day, the students of the ship were gathered in a circle as the teacher elucidated the details of their upcoming excursion to the island. However, Yuto found himself preoccupied with concern for Horikita's health, her flushed complexion not escaping his notice amidst the sea of faces.

"Is your cold improving?" Yuto inquired quietly, his voice laced with genuine concern.

Horikita offered a small nod, though her tone carried a hint of exasperation. "It's still lingering, but it's nothing serious. Please, Yuto, pay attention to the teacher's instructions. They may be important," she urged, her words tinged with a subtle plea for his focus.

Yuto acquiesced with a solemn nod, though his worry for his friend lingered beneath the surface.

As the faculty proceeded to outline the details of the island exam and distribute wristbands to the students, Yuto couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration at the perceived restrictions imposed upon them.

"These wristbands seem excessively limiting," he muttered under his breath, his dissatisfaction evident in his tone.

Upon their arrival at the island, Yuto found himself growing increasingly bored as Yukimura and Kei engaged in a petty argument over the necessity of purchasing a toilet. Yuto couldn't help but lament that he was not in Class B as it would've been much more enjoyable than standing and watching two Idiots argue over a toilet.

Following the lead of his classmates, they embarked on the ascent of a nearby mountain. However, Yuto couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at him as he stole glances at Horikita, whose condition appeared to be worsening by the minute.

"Are you truly alright?" Yuto pressed once more, unable to suppress his concern.

Horikita's patience seemed to wear thin at his persistent inquiries, her response tinged with a note of irritation. "Yes, I'm fine. Please refrain from discussing it further, and I'd prefer to keep my interactions to a minimum for the duration of our stay. Just focus on enjoying yourself, Yuto. Or do what you were planning to do without worrying about me." she asserted firmly.

Yuto's frown deepened at her curt response, but he acquiesced with a reluctant nod, his worry for his love overshadowed by her clear desire for solitude.

"Is she really going to be alright?..."

章節 20: Island : The Hunt.

"Hey, Koenji! Wait up!" Yuto called out, matching pace with Koenji, who was effortlessly swinging through the trees with his usual confidence. Ayanokoji and Sakura trailed behind, struggling to keep up.

"Impressive, Doggy-boy! You're managing to keep pace with a perfect being like me!" Koenji remarked with his trademark smile.

Yuto's retort was swift and sharp. "Who are you calling Doggy-boy, you monkey-bastard!" he shot back, a grin spreading across his face.

Koenji laughed heartily at the banter, picking up his speed as he challenged Yuto to keep up. Yuto, undeterred, matched his pace stride for stride. Ayanokoji and Sakura, observing from a distance, exchanged bemused glances at the competitive display unfolding before them.

"I didn't expect Kazuki-kun to be so competitive," Sakura commented between breaths, her voice tinged with surprise.

Ayanokoji nodded in agreement, a faint hint of disbelief coloring his thoughts. 'Is this really the same lazy friend of mine?'

As the gap between them widened, Yuto seized the opportunity to engage Koenji in a more serious conversation. Leaping onto the trees to close the distance, he spoke with a determined tone. "Don't leave the island," he urged.

Koenji, intrigued by the sudden change in Yuto's demeanor, raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "It seems you know something, Doggy-boy, but I fail to see the reason to stay," he replied.

"Then let me give you a reason." Yuto's proposition caught Koenji's interest. "Let's play a game, Koenji," he suggested. "If I win, you stay on the island and assist me with a minor task. But if you win, you're free from ever contributing to the class again. How about it?"

Koenji considered the offer, his expression thoughtful. "What's the game?" he inquired.

"You can decide that," Yuto replied with a shrug.

Koenji's laughter filled the air as he regarded Yuto with a gleam in his eye. "Interesting, Doggy-boy. I accept your challenge. As for the game... Let's hunt sharks."

____________________________

Yuto and Koenji stood on the beach, the imposing cliffs surrounding them. Yuto looked around him. It was a small beach but was completely covered by cliffs, making impossible for the school management to spot what they will be doing.

"I'm impressed once again, Doggy-boy! You've climbed down a 100m cliff without breaking a sweat. Of course, you're nowhere close to my perfectness! I commend you for how close you are!" Koenji chuckled aloud.

Yuto maintained his deadpan expression, responding with a matter-of-fact tone. "Likewise..."

Koenji's face turned serious as he outlined the rules of their game. "The rules are simple. This unattractive watch here will serve as the timer. We'll take turns hunting our own shark. The one who does it faster will be the victor." He finished his explanation with a casual flick of his hand, adjusting his hair with practiced ease.

Yuto maintained his composure as he and Koenji both cut their fingers to attract sharks. "You can go first," Yuto said, giving a bleeding thumbs-up. Koenji smirked as he spotted a shark approaching him. With a few bone-breaking punches and a deft maneuver, he swiftly subdued the shark and broke its top fin, finishing the task in just four minutes. Returning to shore with the shark's corpse, Koenji looked back at Yuto with a smug grin, "Your chance, Doggy-boy."

Yuto nodded as he waited for another shark to come. Due to the scent of the other shark's blood, this one came much faster. Yuto didn't go too far into the depths of the water due to his fear which was mostly vanquised due to what he expereinced in the pool. Alas the fear still existed.

With a swift and calculated move, he grabbed onto the shark's gill and tore it, swiftly ending the creature's life. The entire encounter lasted a mere thirty seconds.

"Brute strength can't beat pure knowledge," Yuto remarked, a smirk playing on his lips.

Koenji chuckled in acknowledgment, "Indeed! It seems I lacked knowledge of this shark's anatomy. Your victory was as elegant as me!" Yuto chose to ignore Koenji's self-praise, instead reminding him in a dark tone, "You better stick to your word."

"Of course! It's not very elegant to break a deal!" Koenji replied, laughing heartily.

_____________________________________

As dusk settled over the island, Yuto and Koenji made their way back to camp, their journey uphill laden with the weight of their impressive catch.

"Climbing up a 100-meter hill with a 400-pound corpse sure is hard work, isn't it, Koenji?" Yuto remarked, his tone a mix of exhaustion and satisfaction.

Koenji looked at Yuto with a smirk. "This was child's play for someone like me! And the sharks we killed were but infants that got too close to the shore," he replied casually, his demeanor oozing with self-assurance.

Yuto shot Koenji a deadpan look before breaking into a grin. "You're weird. Exactly why we should be friends, Koenji!" he said.

Koenji laughed in response. "Having a companion close to my level of perfectness would indeed be entertaining," he considered seriously.

As they approached the camp, Yuto heard Sudo's exclamation, "Where the hell did Yuto and Koenji go?!"

"Down at the beach, hunting sharks," a voice called out from the forest, drawing the attention of the entire class.

Their confusion palpable, the classmates turned to see Yuto and Koenji emerging from the trees, Yuto waving cheerfully as Koenji followed behind.

"Where the hell were you?" Kei demanded, her eyes widening in shock as she took in their disheveled appearance.

"Eh? Didn't I just tell you?" Yuto replied casually, gesturing towards the massive shark corpses at their feet.

Kei's reaction was immediate. She nearly collapsed in disbelief, while the rest of the class erupted in incredulous exclamations.

Horikita remained silent, her expression unreadable as Ayanokoji maintained his usual stoic demeanor. But the rest of the class was in utter disbelief.

Rushing forward, Kushida and Kei checked on Yuto and Koenji, ensuring they were unharmed. Hirata noticed a small cut on their fingers and inquired about it.

Koenji spoke up before Yuto could respond. "We cut ourselves to attract the sharks," he explained matter-of-factly, a proud smirk gracing his features.

Yuto mirrored his smirk, but it was short-lived as he received an unexpected slap across the face. Surprisingly, it was Sudo who then enveloped Yuto in a tight hug, his emotions overflowing.

"Kazuki! You idiot! Don't go and die like that!" Sudo cried, tears streaming down his face. Some of their classmates were similarly moved, their eyes misty with emotion. Yuto began to shed tears leading his classmates to assume that he was moved by the emotional outburst from Sudo and others. Yet, deep down, Yuto's tears stemmed from a different source.

Glancing at Horikita, who remained stoic on her rock beside Ayanokoji, Yuto cried, 'She really doesn't care about me..' For Horikita, it was a matter of understanding Yuto's nature. She recognized his tendency for dramatics and his capability to handle himself in various situations. While she was intially worried, she didn't see the need for excessive concern over minor incidents. It was part of her stoic demeanor, often misconstrued as indifference.

Meanwhile, Ibuki sat in a corner, her shock evident as she pondered the events. 'Unbelievable! No wonder Ryuen told me to keep an eye on him! This guy is nuts! I doubt even Albert can pull something like this off unscathed!'

As the commotion died down, Kei intervened with practicality. "Hey, Kazuki, more importantly, go take a bath! You stink! You too, Koenji!" she exclaimed, her nose wrinkling at the smell.

Yuto, embarrassed but still grinning, retorted, "Of course I stink! I'm soaked in fish blood!"

With nods of agreement from their classmates, Yuto and Koenji headed off to clean up, leaving behind a camp abuzz with disbelief and admiration for their outrageous feat.
