At midnight, Luo Qiao heard someone coming in, making quite a noise; upon opening her eyes, she saw two women and a man enter, accompanied by a child about seven or eight years old.
Seeing them busy with their luggage, Luo Qiao closed her eyes to continue her slumber; it wasn't long before she heard a woman say, "Brother Yang, can you get them to give us a lower bunk instead? I don't want to sleep on the top."
Another woman replied, "You don't want to sleep on the top, but there's still a middle bunk available—you can sleep there. I'll sleep on the top with Liang Zi."
The woman didn't respond but called out again, "Brother Yang."
Luo Qiao thought to herself that this woman was certainly no good; the coquettish tone of her voice was truly uncomfortable, giving her goosebumps all over. Anyway, Luo Qiao had no intention of accommodating her request, so she didn't move an inch, feigning a deep sleep.
