The boy who fell into the water had turned into a drenched chicken, with the water reaching up to his waist; only then did Ji Yao realize the lake was so shallow.
With a few quick movements, the boy climbed out of the lake, droplets of water continuously dripping from his clothes onto the ground.
The wet fabric clung to his skin, and Ji Yao could make out the contours of his abdominal muscles.
Realizing this, Ji Yao's cheeks turned slightly red.
But she quickly came to her senses, realizing it was just an accident; there was nothing to blush about.
"Thank you, I really owe you for this."
Ji Yao offered the boy a slight smile.
Seeing that Kitty had been rescued, the boy let out a long sigh of relief before waving his hand dismissively.
"You're too polite, sister. A cat is a little life, too. Seeing Kitty in danger, it was only right to save it."
After speaking, he smiled kindly and continued to gently stroke Kitty.
Ji Yao's eyes twinkled with amusement as she laughed softly.
