"How could you even suggest that?" She demanded. "He's hurt, and we can't just leave him to die."
""It won't be possible to climb down with him," Logan said. "Any moment from now, that door will burst open and we will all be dead. Leaving him is the best option for both our survival. If you don't want to come with me, the I'll go ahead alone."
Hearing his words only angered the woman even more. Who does he think he was. Without warning she raised her right hand and slapped him across the face. The sound echoed through the room and Logan's head snapped to the side.
"How dare you," she snapped. "You promised to rescue both of us. We never asked for your help; you decided to offer it yourself."
Logan fletched his fist feeling a surge of anger. He stepped forward until they were inches from each other but unlike others who might have backed down in fear, this woman stood her ground, making eye contact with him.
