"My baby…"

Logan was shocked hearing those words; he had never seen a zombie remember its past life before. This creature was attracted to his dead child.

The zombie staggered forward. Although its movement was slow, it was clear that it was trying to be near the crib, which could put him at risk.

Thinking fast, Logan grabbed a nearby chair and threw it at the zombie. The creature stumbled backward, giving him a precious few seconds to act.

He turned back to the crib and gulped, knowing what he had to do. The baby zombie gurgled, its tiny fingers clutching the hand like a toy. Logan took a deep breath, aimed his rifle, and looked away as he fired. The shot rang out, and the room fell silent as the baby slumped lifelessly in the crib.
