"Spencer, where are you? Why didn't I see you at work today?" Caroline prompted.

"Yes, I am. I see that you're not here, so I decided to call you. Did you have some personal issues and took the day off?" Caroline asked.

Spencer suddenly fell silent.

Two seconds later, Spencer said, "Miss Simons, I'm really sorry, but I resigned."
