章節 179: Facade

Davien's eyes widened, and Bel realized she had no reason to be so angry. Was it because of the dream she couldn't remember, or was it the fact that Davien didn't want to tell her what was wrong? Why was she angry?

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin your mood," he said, standing up from his seat.

"Don't apologize. I said I'm not angry." And she wasn't, at least not anymore. 

Davien didn't relent. He slowly walked to her side of the table and crouched down so he could see her face, but she didn't turn to look at him. "Are you angry at me, Bel?" He gently asked. Bel half thought he would place a hand on her leg but he didn't.

"No, I'm not." Her gaze stayed glued to her food.

"Was it my attitude?" he pestered.

"No."

"I don't know why I couldn't sleep last night," he started. "But I'm sure it's not your fault, and I did feed, I promise."
