章節 98: Making Conversation

Bel walked to the table where her food lay while Davien remained unmoving on the sofa. He had a nonchalant expression on his face and didn't look anywhere in particular. His eyes just scanned around, never settling on anything.

"Why did Mallory look so scared?" Bel asked, unable to hide her curiosity. She knew it would eat at her, and Davien didn't look like he was about to offer any explanation, even though it was pretty obvious she wanted to know what that was about.

"Vampires have that effect on people," Davien replied nonchalantly.

Bel's eyes nearly bulged out of her head at the obvious lie. Even though Stelian was a half-vampire, he was still a vampire, and Mallory didn't seem to have any issue with him. She had also seen Giselle in the presence of Mallory, and she didn't seem to react as she had done.

"That's a bit ironic considering Darkcrypt is flooded with vampires," Bel countered.
