Davien simply nodded and leaned back against the seat at her outburst. "You are absolutely right. You can do whatever you want." His expression has a bored undertone to them as though it was exhausting to talk about this with her.

Bel's forehead creased; she hadn't expected him to give in to her that easily. "Exactly what I intend to do!" She said with conviction, her voice a little higher than she intended.

"Don't say I didn't warn you," he replied.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "What does that mean?"

"Figure it out yourself."

She shot him a dirty look. "Would it kill you to not speak in riddles?"

"Would it kill you to be nicer to me, or at least not look at me as if you plan to kill me in my sleep?"

"If it were that easy to kill a vampire, you'd be dead before the wedding."

Davien's gaze darkened, and his face immediately dropped to a neutral expression. "Sorry to disappoint you."
