Sebastian almost instantly tightened his grip on the sack of coins. Jylan also became slightly straighter next to him, seemingly also ready to punch or kick if it was needed. Welp. Sebastian was usually one to screw things up, so he decided it was better to just get the screwing over with. He cleared his throat and held the sack up a bit higher. Through the seams of the potato sack, the light reflected off golden coins, making the whole sack glow slightly. It was now plainly in sight, and everyone was staring at Sebastian and Jylan.
"I, uh, am here to make a proposition. Each of you get 100 coins if you do what we tell you to." Sebastian said, slightly tripping over his words at the start but clearing out his voice by the end.
Yep. He was still technically a tyrant, which meant he was still technically bossy. Something Jylan could never be, but that's not the point here. Everyone continued staring at the sack, seemingly weighing their odds. If they killed Jylan and Sebastian here and now, they would likely not get all of the money they needed. However, if they cooperated, 100 coins each…
Then Sebastian noticed someone pinching him. Jylan whispered to him, "Sebas, you're supposed to be mute…"
The buck-toothed boy shoved some people aside to come to the front. Both Jylan and Sebastian regarded him suspiciously, and he looked at them suspiciously right back.
"I'll do it. Whatever it is, I'll do it." He said. Others followed in his wake, and soon a crowd was chanting before them. Sebastian and Jylan exchanged glances. Jylan was thinking the same thing as he was.
