章節 37: No, not now.

Author's Pov.

A man sits on the edge of a neatly made bed. Beside him, a woman lies peacefully, her body needing gentle care. With exquisite tenderness, he dips a soft cloth into a basin of warm water and washes her body, delicately removing the traces of the day.

As his hands move across her skin, he can't help but sigh heavily. The weight of the world seems to rest upon his shoulders, his heart burdened with unspoken emotions. Yet, in this moment, as he caresses her face, his touch speaks volumes.

The man's eyes convey a mixture of love and concern as he continues to cleanse her body. Each stroke of the cloth is infused with a deep sense of devotion, as if he is cleansing not only her physical form but also her spirit. The room is filled with quiet solace, interrupted only by the sound of water gently splashing and the occasional sigh escaping his lips.

As soon as he was finished, he carefully dried her body and covered her with a soft blanket.

As he leaned in to kiss her forehead, his voice, barely above a whisper, carried a sweet promise. "Soon, my love," he murmured, his warm breath caressing her skin. In those two simple words, a world of anticipation and longing lay hidden.

The woman lying on the bed has been in deep slumber for 17 years. As the days turned into months and the months into years, she remained in a state of blissful unawareness, completely detached from life's realities.

"Her slumber is mysterious to those around her but known to one person."

But the clock continues to tick, and with every passing day, the anticipation grows. Three more years, they say, until the woman finally awakens from her slumber. Three more years until she is reunited with the loved ones who have missed her dearly. Three more years until her eyes flutter open and she takes her first breath in what feels like an eternity.

Suddenly, the woman twitched in bed, convulsing as if having a seizure. Her body shook violently, and her eyes rolled back in her head.

"No, not now. This can't happen, the man frowned."

He flicked his hand, and a magic mirror appeared. He saw a witch channeling his son, and anger bubbled in him. The boy was awakening his powers, but his mother would die if it wasn't time to wake up yet. He quickly ran to the bed and put his hand on her forehead, as if to will her to stay asleep. He whispered a few words of a forgotten spell, and the woman's body grew still. He breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that his son's powers were safe for now.

18 years ago, Urza, a powerful lich, wandered across the vast expanse of the world, carrying a haunting reminder of his past: bones and skull. These relics were a constant companion, a grim testament to the struggles he faced and the darkness that consumed him. The weight of his sins weighed heavily on his weary shoulders.

One fateful day, as Urza roamed the desolate landscape, a young girl stumbled upon him. Her eyes widened in curiosity and fear as she beheld the eerie sight before her. With trembling hands, she reached out and touched Urza, her fingertips brushing against his cold, lifeless bones.

In a moment that defied all logic, a miracle occurred. As the girl's touch made contact, a surge of energy coursed through Urza's veins. His body, once nothing more than a skeletal shell, was suddenly engulfed in a radiant light. Flesh covered his bones, and life returned to his once empty eyes. It was a transformation that the world had not seen in a thousand years.

The unexpected turn of events surprised both Urza and Sanren. They found themselves caught in a web of circumstances that led to an unusual bond between them. Urza, filled with curiosity, couldn't help but trail after Sanren wherever she went. He was drawn to her like a magnet, fascinated by her every move.

On the other hand, liches are known for their unwavering loyalty to their masters, and Sanren came to his aid and saved Urza's life. This made her his new master. However, despite their devotion, Sanren was not thrilled about this newfound responsibility. She hadn't asked for it, and it weighed heavily on her.

As Urza continued to follow Sanren, their interactions became more frequent. They spent more time together, and gradually, an unexpected emotion began to blossom between them. Love, a feeling neither of them had anticipated, grew silently, weaving its way into their hearts.

Urza knew Sanren's unique hybrid nature. However, Sanren remained oblivious to her own identity. The mystery surrounding Sanren's origins intrigued Urza, but he chose to keep this knowledge to himself, fearing the potential consequences of revealing the truth.

As time passed, Sanren found herself in an unexpected situation. She discovered that she was pregnant, and with this revelation, a series of prophecies began to haunt Urza's mind. These prophetic visions seemed to be connected to the unborn child, indicating that they held a significant destiny.

Every first-born witch had similar visions of a child that would bring evil to the world. Urza was determined to protect Sanren from the fate in store for her unborn child. He made a plan to keep the child safe and prevent the prophecy from coming true.

As Sanren's pregnancy progressed, the prophecies surrounding her unborn child grew more concerning. People around her began to question her identity and whisper about the potential consequences of her child's birth.

As supernatural creatures continued to haunt Sanren, Urza knew something needed to be done to protect Sanren and prevent the prophesied destruction caused by their son's uncontrollable magic. Urza cloaked his wife, ensuring her safety during this tumultuous time.

Urza devised a plan to suppress their son's magical abilities until he reached twenty. The goal was to avert the prophecy and maintain the delicate balance between the natural and supernatural worlds.

Sanren, filled with love and devotion, volunteered to undertake the task of suppressing their son's magic. She understood the importance of keeping their child's powers in check to protect both him and the supernatural realm. Urza, in turn, vowed to protect Sanren and their baby, shielding them from the dangers that lurked in the shadows.

For years, the plan worked. The child grew up unaware of his magical potential, living a normal life. But now, something or someone awakens his dormant powers. The delicate balance Urza and Sanren fought so fiercely to maintain is in jeopardy.

Urza suppressed the powers and put Sanren to sleep. If she woke from the spell, she would be drained of life. The prophecy would be more destructive than they thought, as the boy had too much anger in his heart.
