In the middle of the night, Irina sneaked out of the girls' dormitory and planned to go to the Hogwarts kitchens to ask the house-elves for some food as usual.
She had been busy opening crackers and exploding the little fireworks at the previous Christmas feast, and she didn't even eat enough!
She came to the Gryffindor common room with her wand in one hand.
It was late at night, and the Gryffindor common room was empty at this time. It was dark all around. People who didn't have a certain amount of courage would not dare to wander here alone.
But just as Irina was about to walk out of the common room, she felt someone pat her shoulder.
"Blimey, a ghost!"
After finding that there was nothing behind her, Irina retreated in fear, and at the same time raised her hand to cast a few Freezing Charms.
The ice-blue beams flashed by, as if they had hit something.
Then, the invisibility cloak slipped off like flowing water, revealing the boy who was frozen into an ice sculpture.
"Harry?!"
Irina was stunned for a moment, and she quickly removed the curse.
The thawed Harry shivered all over. He put his invisibility cloak back on and complained: "Irina, you didn't have to be so jumpy! Where would ghosts come from in the Gryffindor common room? Besides, there are ghosts here already, and you're not afraid of them!"
Irina snorted: "Who told you to scare me? You deserved to be frozen into an ice sculpture!"
Harry said helplessly: "This invisibility cloak was my father's. I just wanted to try out its effects. Then I happened to see you here, so I wanted to ask if you wanted to go for a late night wander together."
Irina spread her hands: "With my magical strength, even if I don't wear an invisibility cloak, I won't be discovered by Filch. However, if you wear the cloak, can you get into the Restricted Section of the library without being noticed?"
Although Irina can use various charms to conceal herself, she can't use the Disillusionment Charm yet, so she naturally can't get into the Restricted Section through Madam Pince's strict defences.
Harry nodded and said, "Of course, you didn't find me just now!"
Hearing this, Irina's eyes lit up.
She said to Harry, "Harry, you can try to go to the Restricted Section. I heard the books there record a lot of powerful magic that can help you defeat Malfoy!"
According to the original books, after Harry was caught in the Restricted Section, he ran all the way to find the unused classroom with the Mirror of Erised. Although the Mirror couldn't change reality, Irina was still interested in what her heart's deepest desire was.
As long as she could trick Harry into the Restricted Section and then get him kicked out, she would have a high probability of finding the classroom by following him.
Harry was also a little surprised to hear Irina's words.
You know, Harry was still upset about the duel with Malfoy, beaten black and blue, and finally had to rely on Hermione to save him. Naturally, he hoped he could defeat Malfoy with his own spells.
"I'll go with you, but you have to find the books. I'll just hide under the cloak!"
Irina said to Harry.
Although Harry was a little puzzled, he agreed without hesitation.
Harry's invisibility cloak was adult-sized, which meant it was a huge cloak for them. Even with Harry and Irina hiding under it, they could still walk side-by-side with half a meter between them.
In this way, Irina successfully persuaded Harry to sneak into the library's Restricted Section.
What happened later was not much different from the original books. When Harry was flipping through a book in the Restricted Section, the book suddenly screamed sharply and creepily, shattering the library's silence. This made Harry hide under the cloak and drag Irina away.
Irina didn't care where Harry ran, she just followed him.
Soon, Harry and Irina hid in an abandoned classroom.
This was an out-of-use classroom. Many desks and chairs were piled against the walls, creating large black shadows. There was also an overturned wastepaper basket. However, propped against the wall facing Harry and Irina, there was something that did not seem to belong there, as if someone had temporarily stashed it with nowhere else to put it.
This was a magnificent mirror, as tall as a classroom ceiling, with an ornate golden frame and two clawed feet.
An inscription was carved across the top: Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi.
Reading this inscription backwards, it said: "I show not your face but your heart's desire."
After seeing this inscription, Irina understood that this was the Mirror of Erised!
At this time, Harry took a few steps forward and looked into the Mirror of Erised.
After seeing what appeared, he was shocked. He quickly covered his mouth with his hands to stop himself from screaming out loud.
In the Mirror before Harry, there were at least a dozen people standing behind his reflection, but when Harry spun around suddenly, he found that there was no one there except the innocently watching Irina.
Could it be that all these people were wearing invisibility cloaks, and the mirror's function was to penetrate such concealments?!
Harry thought so as he looked carefully at the scene in the mirror, seeing a smiling woman waving at him standing right behind his image.
This was a very beautiful woman with dark red hair and bright green eyes like Harry's, and standing next to her was a tall, thin black-haired man with his arm around her. The man wore glasses, had untidy hair, and had a hairline just like Harry's.
They were... his parents?!
This crazy idea entered Harry's mind, but seeing the mirror couple who shared so many features with him, Harry became convinced he was right.
"Mum?" Harry called out softly. "Dad?!"
The people in the mirror were all smiling at him warmly - they were all his family.
Just as Harry was absorbed in the scene the Mirror of Erised presented, Irina patted his shoulder, snapping him out of it. "Do you see the inscription on this mirror? Read it backwards!"
Harry looked at her confusedly and did as instructed: "I show not your face but your heart's desire."
After saying it, Harry seemed to realize something.
He looked at Irina and asked: "So, the appearance of my parents in this mirror doesn't mean they're still alive, but because my deepest heart's desire is to be with my parents?"
Harry said, feeling extremely lost.
He had thought he could find his parents and never have to go back to those dreadful Dursleys again.
