More than two weeks passed quickly. Lynn and Gale took care of Rowle Manor together. All the weeds outside the castle were removed, and fresh green plants were planted.
At this time, Lynn and Rowena were waiting for Professor Green's arrival in the living room on the first floor of the castle. Gale stood by with a tray of fruits and ice water to entertain the incoming guests.
Soon, with a loud crack, a figure appeared at the castle gate.
Lynn quickly stepped forward and opened the castle door.
It was Professor Green standing outside.
"Lynn, I'm here to pick you up!"
Professor Green patted Lynn's head and picked up a cup filled with cold water from the tray Gale held.
After taking a sip, Professor Green looked at Rowena in the living room, bowing slightly. "Hello, Mrs. Rowle!"
Rowena nodded in return, saying softly, "Professor Green, my Lynn is in your care."
Professor Green acknowledged her words.
After bidding farewell to his mother, Lynn grabbed Professor Green's arm.
Another loud crack, and Lynn vanished from the spot.
Simultaneously, two figures materialized on a mountaintop dozens of miles away.
Lynn's body swayed slightly, feeling nauseous.
Clearly, it was Apparition, but Professor Green's version was much rougher than Gale's.
"I had planned to take you to France by Muggle transportation, but circumstances changed, and we'd be too late if we did. So, I opted for a Portkey," Professor Green explained, pointing to a worn ceramic bowl nearby.
This old ceramic bowl was the key to their journey.
A Portkey is a magical object for swift transportation between spaces. It usually looks inconspicuous, like broken tires or empty bottles, but when activated with magic, it can instantly transport people across great distances.
Portkeys are more stable than Apparition for long-distance travel, especially between continents.
The Ministry of Magic strictly regulates Portkeys. Wizards must apply and register them with the Ministry; unauthorized Portkey use can result in arrest.
Professor Green said with a smile, "Securing an international Portkey is quite challenging; it took considerable effort."
With only a few minutes left before the Portkey activated, Professor Green and Lynn extended their fingers, placing them on the worn ceramic bowl, awaiting activation.
Soon, Lynn felt a hook-like sensation behind his navel, propelling him forward with irresistible momentum. His feet left the ground, and he soared through the air like a gust of wind, unable to see clearly ahead.
In a flash, Lynn descended, the scene changing drastically.
Not far away lay a street reminiscent of Diagon Alley in the French wizarding world. Wizards bustled about, carrying brand-new magical items.
Professor Green introduced Lynn with a smile, "This is Rue d'Or Magique, France's largest magical commercial hub. Its name underscores the prominence of alchemy in our wizarding society—we hold powerful alchemists and magic masters in high regard."
Lynn nodded, taking in his surroundings.
Unlike Diagon Alley's retro charm, Rue d'Or Magique exuded a modern vibe. French wizards embraced Muggle ideas, infusing everyday items with alchemical elements. The variety of products seemed endless.
Professor Green led Lynn through Rue d'Or Magique, exploring various intriguing alchemy products. Without hesitation, Professor Green purchased some and gifted them to Lynn, despite knowing Lynn's financial stability as an alchemist himself.
"As the day draws to a close, I plan to take you to a particular store. You might find it interesting," Professor Green remarked as they reached the end of Rue d'Or Magique.
They approached a small shop with a mysterious aura. Its facade was narrow, making it challenging for two wizards to enter side by side. Yet, despite its size, a long line of wizards waited eagerly to enter, hinting at its remarkable interior capacity.
Lynn's expression relaxed as he realized that the shop's interior space likely extended beyond its exterior dimensions through the use of an Undetectable Extension Charm. Though he initially attributed the phenomenon to alchemy, he remembered that magic, not alchemy, was at its core.
Professor Green and Lynn joined the queue, entering the store orderly.
As expected, the interior was vast, resembling a large square. Various alchemy products were displayed on booths, protected by light curtains. Young wizards gathered around, observing the products with keen interest.
"This is the largest trading platform on Rue d'Or Magique. Here, you can buy alchemy products crafted by French alchemists and even trade your own. Official staff appraise your products, converting them into Galleons for purchase. Alternatively, you can engage in fair barter with other alchemists," Professor Green explained.
Lynn observed the front desk, where official personnel appraised alchemy products before exchanging them for Galleons. Meanwhile, alchemists negotiated trades with booth owners, exchanging their products under the vanishing light curtain.
