After the Salamander died, Ezra unsummoned all the shadows. Immediately after, a group of second-years ran in their direction.

They saw Ezra's group and then stopped. The group was made up of three dudes and two girls.

"Hey, did you guys see a salamander pass through here? We were battling it on the fifteenth floor, but it was stronger than our group.

Luckily we hit it with a crystal and it fled. For some reason, it ran up the floors, and we've been chasing it ever since," one of the guys said.

"Yeah, we saw it, and we took care of it," Ezra said, then flashed the core of the salamander at them.

"You have to be joking. You lot are first-years, and that was a salamander we couldn't take care of.

How do you expect us to believe that you killed the lava salamander?" the guy asked.
