Ezra's eyes opened slowly; his surroundings were blurred, but he could hear voices.
"He's up! Ezra has woken up."
Ezra could tell without a doubt that it was Seth, and as his view cleared up, he indeed saw Seth calling out.
Ezra was lying on a bed, but he couldn't recognize the room. He pushed himself to sit up.
Within a minute of him waking up, the room was already filled with people: Lucy, Lisa, Violet, Elizabeth, Seth, and Allen.
But he wasn't there. Leo was not there. And when Ezra saw that Leo was indeed not there, he felt his heart tighten.
"I wished it was a dream. I wished he was still here, but I guess not," Ezra thought.
Lisa ran to Ezra, jumped on him, not caring if he was still injured, clung to him, and began crying.
"I thought you would leave me too, brother. I was scared," Lisa cried out her heart, while the others stood with their heads down.
"So he really died?" Ezra asked.
