章節 9: Killing
After the training, Ezra headed home, he took permission from Oliver to not come over for the next few days. He was ready to tell Oliver the reason, but Oliver didn't ask, he simply let him have the time off.
It was dark, and Ezra walked home, the town was quiet, but there was still activity. Ezra held onto his scythe that was wrapped in cloth. He decided to pass through a shortcut that passed through a dark alleyway.
"Now what do we have here?" Richard and his team intercepted Ezra as though they had been waiting for him.
"Aren't you guys past your bedtime? Just leave me be." Ezra sounded pissed already.
"I don't have the time to even talk to you, boys hold him." Richard gave the order; the boys ran up to catch Ezra.
"You brought this on yourself," Ezra said, the cloth on the scythe loosened and fell to the ground, revealing the scythe that gleaned under the moonlight.
'I will show no mercy, I will cut all my enemies down.'
He kicked the floor and shot forward like a jet, he spun midair and slashed at the first boy, the scythe cut cleanly through his head, splitting it in two.

The other boy froze when he saw this, he fell to his knees and vomited everything he had in his stomach.
"There is no stopping now, leave no one behind, no traces." Ezra shot forward like a bullet, he swung his scythe from top to bottom and split the boy in half.

Richard was petrified, his body refused to move as he watched in horror. Never in his wildest imagination would he think that Ezra would kill them, his eyes were wide open looking at Ezra who had a crazy shine in his eyes.
"I thought I would have to find a beast to kill and awaken my abilities, but you and your friends had to make it easy for me," Ezra said, a smile hanging on his face.
"Let me see how this power works," Ezra said.
He thought about the shadow tendril, and that was enough to activate the ability, just by his will. Tendrils of darkness flowed out of his hands, writhing and turning around his arm.
Richard saw this and was hit with even bigger fear, he subconsciously stepped back and was about to run.
"I refuse to bow, not now, not ever," Ezra said, the tendrils dropped to the ground and seeped into the ground, and then suddenly, tendrils came out around Richard from the ground, they held onto every part of his body and pulled him in all directions.
His body began reaping apart, he wanted to shout, but a tendril covered his mouth, leaving only muffled moans.
"I will fight till I reach the level I want to get, and I will hold no emotions to my enemies, not at all, never will I be broken again."
The tendrils ripped the body apart completely, spraying blood in the air. The pieces of flesh fell to the ground splattering more blood and painting the floor crimson red.

Ezra took his scythe, and without looking back, he turned away and left the scene. His mind drifted to the fact that he had murdered three children, yet he felt nothing at all, no remorse, no disgust, no sadness, and no happiness.
He felt as he would feel when you lived your normal life. He walked into the darkness, leaving the scene that would be the talk of the town for weeks to come.
On top of a roof not too far away sat Oliver who had watched the whole scene, he looked at the departing back of Ezra and a frown plastered on his face.
"He held no remorse when killing them, luckily, he didn't have any satisfaction as well. This means he will kill his enemies if they cross his path, but he will not seek them out for thrills. He is at the center, a dangerous yet good place to be, Ezra, what would make a kid like you this way."
Ezra used the piece of cloth that he had wrapped his scythe to clean the scythe up, he took it with him and folded it neatly.
When he got home, he used shadow dive, and silently got into the house, he dropped the cloth in his bathroom and then used shadow dive to get back outside in front of the door.
He knocked twice and his mother opened the door for him, he explained to her how the training had taken time and that was the reason he was late. She understood and let him go to his room.
She also told him that his sister was back, but his father headed out again for business in the same city. His sister was asleep, so he wouldn't see her tonight, so he decided to head up to his room.
He cleaned up and also washed all the blood from the cloth, he sat on his head with only his underwear, his hair dripping wet.
"The irony is that I was killed for the crime of killing kids, and here I am, and I have committed that crime." He said then chucked slightly.
"System show me my stats," Ezra said.

Ezra saw difference in his stats, he couldn't help but smile when he saw it. He was officially on his path in this new world.
"Now my first goal is to deal with the man that cursed me, I have to find him, and give him a death that he will remember in ten afterlife," Ezra said.
He fell asleep, while the turmoil of three dead boys spread through the night.
