Master Wu brushed his hair out of his face, it was so long and disheveled that it took him a moment to tame it. The room was too bright for his eyes and he could only make out the faint silhouette of an old man sitting across from him.
"That's quite the accusation." The Grand Elder said. "Is there any proof that it was his doing? Or is it just a suspicion?"
Master Wu let out a deep breath. He had assumed it would go like this. Being a core disciple meant that in terms of rank within the sect, the only person you answered to was the Patriarch. They were held to a higher regard than even inner court masters.
"He is the only person capable of doing so, and he was in the right place at the right time. I think that is proof enough." Master Wu responded.
"Unfortunately, that's not good enough, and you know it." The Grand Elder said. "So why did you come to me with this. What do you wish to achieve."
Master Wu looked down and picked up his cup.
