章節 37: Sophie Has Everything Under control
At 7 PM, Sophie arrived at the celebration dinner & at the same time Amber entered Brooklyn hotel.
As Global Pictures's status was limited, they could only invite a few famous people.
Even though Sophie was the protagonist of the night's celebration dinner, it was obvious that Nathan only wanted to lore her in. His real intention was to allow Kathy to step out on the stage.
After sometimes, when Sophie got tired of interacting with guests at the celebration dinner, she sat down to rest.
At this time, she found a waiter and whispered some instructions into his ear.
He nodded obediently.
Afterwards, amongst the cheers of everyone, Nathan walked up through the red carpet at the stage.
"Tonight, apart from celebrating Sophie becoming the American Spokesperson for ISN, we also have an important decision to announce" Nathan said. He was wearing a handsome brown suit, he looked handsome standing at the stage, "The role of Global Pictures's artist director will taken over by my sister, the top manager - Kathy Davies. Let's welcome her to the stage to continue telling everyone about the good news"
Kathy stepped out on the carpet wearing a long silver dress and a pair of ten centimeters high heel shoes. She had a proud expression, like a queen as she looked around. In the end , her gaze focused on Sophie. Her gaze was scheming sinister, with the desire to conquer.
Upon seeing her, Sophie's eyebrows forrowed slightly.
"Hellow Everyone, I am Kathy Davies. From today onwards, I will be Global Pictures Entertainment's artist director. I also have one more important announcement to make" Kathy continued to look at Sophie ,like a hunter locked on their preys, "I would like to announce..." Kathy started, but as soon as those words left her mouth, the waiter Sophie had instructed earlier suddenly walked on stage holding a phone and handed it to Kathy, breaking her off in mid sentence.
Upon seeing the contents on the phone, she immediately glared at Sophie. She was surprised, angry and unwilling to accept what she saw.
But , Sophie maintained her smile the entire time. For Sophie this smile was painful to look at.
"I would like to announce early next year , we will be creating an amazing new band. We have already invited many superstars to be involved. Everyone, keep your eyes peeled"
Nathan looked at Kathy confusingly. She was meant to announce that she would become Sophie's new manager, why did she suddenly change her mind !?
"Kathy , what's wrong !? The company already knows that you will takeover Sophie, why are you suddenly changing the plan !?"
"Sophie!" Kathy exclaimed as she grand her teeth. Nathan turned to look at Sophie.
"She intervened !? How did she intervene!? What did she show you !?"
"She already predicted that I wanted to be her manager, so she showed me offer from both cretive day & Morning Sun as a Threat. If I dare to Public the announcement that I am to become her manager, she will also publicly announce that she is canceling her contract with the Global pictures entertainment" Kathy spoke to Nathan with a extremely cold tone, as she looked at Sophie, "Nathan , she is using this method to tell us , we should be grateful that she is staying at Global Pictures and that we should not treat her casually.
"She has no shame , so cheap!" Said Nathan.
"I have never hated an artist to this extent. I hate her so much that I want to tear her apart into million of pieces. Go speak to her, this can't be her only request "
From the looks of it, from all the times they have confronted each other , Kathy had developed a sense of understanding towards Sophie. She never thought as a top manager, she would fall into hand of someone like her.
Nathan looked at Sophie and motioned her to meet him at the meeting room.
Accompanied by Lisa, Sophie headed backstage. The three of them stood in a room, as Lisa looked cautiously at Nathan.
"What do you want ?!!" Nathan asked.
"Give Ashley her freedom" Sophie said out her condition, "Or else , I will set both Ashley and myself free. Far away from Global pictures"
"Fine, I agree to let Ashley go, but you can't leave" Nathan spoke coldly.
The waiting room was silent before Nathan continued, "How badly do you hate me , for you to think that I have so many sinister plans to force Amber and I to this point!? My sister wanted to be your manager, so she could support you. Who would have thought that you would use canceling your contract to threaten Global pictures"
"Nathan to you, Everything Amber endorses to do are right. Wheres my counterattack are simply sinister and scheming. I have said it before , I don't initiate attack on others, but , no one should be calculative and bad intended towards me" Sophie's voice was calm, but it was also contained an underlying power, "By the way, how come we don't see Amber!?"
"Did you think, I would allow Amber to come here and get hurt !?"
"Wheather she will get or not , I am not sure. I just know that you should keep your eye on her. Don't tell me that you don't understand what kind of person she is. The selection for the top ten model awards is tomorrow. What do you think she would do to get what she wants !?"
Nathan was stunned for a moment, but he remained stubborn, "Did you think she is calculative like you !? To me, she is a bit careless, but she would never be ruthless like you. Stabbing your ex in the back and stepping on the sister that treated you like family"
"Really !?" Sophie asked as she looked at Nathan, simply suggesting that she thought otherwise.
Afterwards, she turned around to leave the room.
Not long after, Kathy entered the room to question Nathan, "What does she want !?"
"She will stay , but Ashley will be set free" Nathan replied.
"Nathan, I am guessing, while other companies throwing her alternative options, the fact that she decided to stay in Global pictures must mean, she has even a bigger plan ahead. Sophie obviously wants to destroy the Davies family. She hates you so much. Yet, we can't seem to do anything about it" Kathy gripped on the wine glass in her hand as if she was strangling Sophie's neck.
"Then, what's our next move !?" Nathan felt Powerless towards Sophie,"I think it's time for me to go and talk to mom" He said.
As the wife of a famous director, Merlin Davies had many contacts within the industry. They would have to see if she had any ideas on how to easily defeat Sophie.
