Still feeling apprehensive, Bastopher's hand tightened against the hilt of the dagger he had concealed beneath his cloak. That managed to do what it could to calm him down.

The already tense air grew colder as they were about to descend a narrow staircase that spiraled all the way down to an obscurity. Bastopher hesitated, looking down at the darkness beneath.

"What is down there?" he asked the Necromonger.

Vilgrav lifted his gaze at him and grinned hideously once again. "What you seek," he said.
