015 - Dawn of the Second Day

Medea of Colchis

Another loud moan breaks the silence of the night, barely muffled by the multiple walls between Master's room and me. I close my eyes with a hum of satisfaction, taking a small sip of the cup of tea in my hands. It sure sounds like Sakura-chan took my advice to heart.

When I open them again, I have to hold back a sigh. Haku-chan insisted on having a little chat while Master was busy and dragged me outside to serve tea and glare at me. I have a good idea about what this is about and if I'm right then it's just pointless teenage drama. Was I really like this too, once upon a time?

"The tea is delicious as always, Haku-chan." I praise with my best smile. "You really have a talent for it."

"Thanks, but that's not what I called you here for." She sets her cup on the table with more force than strictly necessary, no doubt psyching herself up for a verbal spar. Teenagers. "Let's cut the chase, alright?"

"Of course." I put my own cup back on the table too. This time I don't quite manage to hold back my sigh. "Anything I can help you with?"

"I'm the head wife." She declares boldly, though the way she crosses her arms conveys a defensiveness that takes away from the impact of her words. "If this is going to work, you are going to defer to me."

"That's fine."

"I will–!" The wind leaves Haku-chan's sails as soon as she processes my words. "Huh?

"Something I realized a long time ago is that jockeying for position is not worth it when it comes to love. You'll just ruin everything, and then nobody will be happy." The realization remains true, even if it was him who made me realize that. "So you can be the Queen of our little kingdom. Royal blood or not, I think I fit better as an advisor anyway."

"Just like that?" She blurts incredulously, eyeing me with a mix of relief and suspicion.

"Things don't have to be complicated, Haku-chan." I answer with a soft chuckle. "We are on the same side."

"A-anyway!" She recovers with the grace of a baby seal trying to reach the sea. That is, none at all, but adorable all the same. "What we did the other day was a punishment game and kind of fun, but it's not…"

"I'm… sorry about that." I wince, memories of that night coming back to mind at her words. I definitely went too far. "Things got a bit out of control back then. All that power, and it was just harmless fun without consequences… I might've lost control a bit."

"Hey, don't worry too much, okay?" She panickedly tries to reassure me, and I have to hold back an amused snort. Wasn't she trying to antagonize me a minute ago? "As I said, it was kinda fun. Maybe we can do it again on a special occasion? It's just not everyday stuff."

"No, I… " Words fail me, and I have to take a deep breath to rally my willpower. Come on, Medea, you don't need to look at everyone from above, you can admit weakness. "I may be dragging some lingering issues from my past that have no business in the bedroom. It'll be better for all involved if I don't have the temptation again."

Haku makes a difficult face, and I suddenly have the distinct impression that she'll find someone to fill my role on those special occasions. Amusement wells within my chest, chasing away all the gloom the topic had caused. I'll have to make sure whoever she picks is worth the trust put on them.

"Huh." She finally breaks the silence. "You're not what I expected."

"Neither are you, but here we are." I retort amusedly. "On another topic, I have some dresses that I'm sure would look gorgeous on Saber. As her Master, maybe you could…"

"Yeah, no. You're on your own there." She waves a hand with a snort, before pausing to consider something and adding a bit more. "... But she's easily bribable with sweets."

"I can work with that." I smile, hands reaching for my tea again. "I was a deft hand at pancakes, once upon a time."

With that, our conversation finally steers away from heavy topics, allowing us to properly enjoy the night and each other's company.

Teenagers, really. It's all endless drama with them.

Wakefulness comes in the way of cheerful knocking on the door.

"Nii-san, it's morning!" Haku's way too chipper voice calls from right outside. "Be a dear and drag Sakura-chan to the dining room so we can properly interrogate her about her big night!"

I swear that girl will be the death of me. The aforementioned lets out a pained groan against my chest, announcing her own wakefulness but refusing to actually move. Sakura's body is warm and soft, and feeling it squishing against mine is enough to send a thrill down my spine and up my very energetic morning wood. I would be all for staying like this for as long as we can stretch it, maybe try to get some morning fun too, if Haku didn't have a point.

Teasing poor Sakura aside, it's kind of Tuesday. Sakura can get away with missing school today too, but I have an alibi to maintain. So I put my considerable force of will to work and somehow manage to open my eyes and take a look around. The sun is just peeking from the window, so at least we are not pressed for time.

After confirming Haku didn't let us oversleep, I lower my gaze towards the girl currently trying to bury her body onto mine. The futon covers have been kicked away at some point and we're pretty much two naked teens wrapped around each other in the middle of the floor. It would be so easy to forget the plans for the day and just…

I shake my head, we can't do that, there's work to be done. Instead of falling for my base urges and pounding this girl into an insensate pile of blissful goo again, I content myself with running a hand through her hair. Closed eyes and a face cutely scrunched up are revealed underneath.

"Sakura." I call softly, dropping a soft kiss on her forehead. Her face relaxes, a soft smile growing on her lips. "We really need to get up."

"I don't want to." She answers petulantly, smile gone once again. "This is too good."

"It is really nice." I agree easily. "But we have things to do."

"What if this was a dream and it ends when I wake up?" She asks seriously, finally opening her eyes.

"Then you'll need to find the real me, grab him by the neck of his shirt and kiss him into compliance." I kiss her forehead again, this time rubbing her back with my hand at the same time. "I reckon that'd work."

"Of course you'd say that, you're my dream!" She protests with a giggle.

"Now, calling me your dream is really flattering…" Ah, there's that cute blush I had been missing. Everything is finally right with the world. "But it all goes right back to the fact that we need to get up."

She finally rolls away from me with a sigh, only to freeze in place when she reaches for something to cover up with and realizes that there isn't really anything she can use. The futon doesn't have sheets she can wrap around herself, her sleeping gown is crumpled on a corner of the room that she can't reach without giving me a free show on the way and my own clothes…

Well, I had been wearing only my boxers when she arrived, which wouldn't really solve her problems even if they weren't in the same position her own clothes are.

"Senpai?" She bits her lip nervously, futilely trying to cover her generous assets with an arm while the other protects her nethers. "Would you mind… looking away for a moment?"

"Hmm~? I could…" I smile teasingly, propping my head on an elbow to get a better view. "But I think I want to see this."

"Senpai?" Her blush actually fades, shame momentarily overwritten by shock. I think she really wasn't expecting that answer.

"I'll look away if you really want to hide that gorgeous body of yours." I explain, lecherously eyeing her pale skin up and down. "But I don't think you actually want that."

Sakura's blush, which has been steadily returning as I eyed her body, finally reaches critical levels and she turns around. "Mou! Senpai can be a big bully sometimes."

She doesn't sound upset though, and indeed she puts an extra sway to her hips as she finally walks towards her clothes, reaching down without bending her knees in a way that makes me feel great and terrible things around my groin area. Finally, Sakura turns around with a wide smile, holding her gown against her body in a way that barely covers the essentials.

Her eyes trace down my body, and her smile somehow gets even wider when she notices my predicament.

"That looks painful." She coos, taking slow and deliberate steps towards me. "Do you need some help, Sen~ pa~ i~?"

"If only we had time…" I reject her offer with a sigh, getting up to pick some clothes for myself. "But we're lost enough time already. Come on, it's time to get out and face the music."

Breakfast is an… interesting affair. Haku and Medea immediately seize the seats on either side of Sakura, trapping her between the two of them with a look in their eyes that makes me think of birds of prey. And then they start with the questions. What I did to her, how I did it, how it made her feel, what did she do in turn…

Poor Sakura looks mortified, but seems to take the interrogation as some sort of test and does her best to answer. Which in turn makes me feel mortified. Poor Ecchan has decided to drown the world in sweets and is currently going through her third package of cheerios. That she's eating straight from the bag. I think she hopes the crunching will be enough to drown out their voices.

Good luck with that, superhuman senses can be a bitch for this sort of thing.

As the conversation/interrogation progresses, the flow of the conversation starts to gradually… shift. Little by little it goes from my most veteran lovers bullying the newcomer into three women talking about their lovers, which just so happen to be the same person. Sure, there's a lot of flattering comments thrown around, and some very promising insinuations about sharing. But there's also evaluating, judging and criticizing.

Which makes me feel distinctly like a piece of choice meat on the butcher's table.

The touch of something against my shoulder shocks me into looking at my side, where I find Ecchan looking at me with a startled expression that I'm sure mirrors my own. It looks like, as my lovers continued their conversation, both Ecchan and myself unconsciously tried to get as far away from them as possible. Which meant we're both on the opposite side of the table with nowhere else to run.

I throw an apologetic smile her way and she immediately lowers her head to stare at her plate instead, a soft red tinting her cheeks.

Hey, progress!

In the end, Sakura opted to stay behind. Medea wanted to run some tests about the whole 'pseudo lesser grail' thing before finalizing the move over to Ryuudou Temple and it made sense to get it out of the way while she still has an excuse to skip school.

"Nii-san?" Haku calls on our way to school. "Do you think we could invite Mitsuzuri-san into our conspiracy?"

Ayako Mitsuzuri. I've not paid her all the attention I could, to be honest. From what little I remember of the original work, she stops attending class after being attacked at some point near the start of the series and is never mentioned again. Considering she'd just spurned Shinji, and he had recently gained access to a Servant, it's not very hard to guess what happened.

The real extent of the incident is left to the imagination, but it couldn't have been good. Shinji is a spiteful bastard.

… I don't want that to happen this time around, and Mitsuzuri has recently spurned Shinji like she did in the canon timeline. Haku has done the same, but she has a literal alien dragon (a sugar-powered alien dragon, at that.) to watch her back. On the other hand…

Ayako is a notable girl, full of potential and with a bright future ahead of her... In the normal world. Rin would eat her for breakfast if their rivalry ever turned sour and, even as untrained as she is, Sakura could take care of her with ease. That's without considering the Servants.

I'm not a Waifu Catalog Jumper, capable of granting boons to my love interests just because. Mitsuzuri's ability to stand by our side would remain… limited.

"We shall see." I pat Haku's head to buy some time and think. It would be a douche move to say no to Haku just because I can't get a use out of her, and it's not like I'm opposed to the idea of seducing her either. Heck, I could use that to rile up Rin, that's always a good enough reason to do something. "For now, let's keep an eye on her, okay? I'm worried something from the Moonlit World could get to her, in the chaos of the War."

"Are you worried, nii-san?" She gives me a look. "Or worried?"

"Crystal beads in the Kaleidoscope and all that, dear sister." I'm pretty sure things have changed a fair deal after I pointed Rin at the Matou mansion, and it's not like Shinji has a big stake in her, so it might still happen that she's left unmolested. "For now I'm just worried. Keep an eye on her, but don't drag her into the Moonlit World needlessly."

"Pooey."

"Haku, I don't want to bed every single attractive girl in the world." I complain with a sigh. I'm pretty sure we've talked about this before. "If she can be happy in her normal world, without ever knowing of the monsters lurking beneath, all the better for her."

"POOEY!"

Her protests end when I redouble my petting efforts, but the pout never leaves her face.

It's a sad day when headpats can't solve all your problems.
