Patrick stormed through his house, rage bubbling beneath the surface. He grabbed a vase from a nearby table and hurled it across the room, watching as it shattered into countless pieces against the wall. His hands shook with frustration as he paced back and forth, replaying the failures of the past few days in his head. He had paid good money to a few men to take care of Jack—kill him, but they had failed miserably.

His attempt to control Samantha and Lena by taking over their workplaces had backfired as well. He thought by pulling the strings at their jobs, he could force them to come crawling back to him. But instead, both of them had stubbornly quit, leaving him with nothing but mounting anger and bruised pride.

"Stupid girls! Stupid Jack!" Patrick screamed, knocking over a chair. "I will get them. I will make them beg—"
